This is my first Schott perfecto. I have had a low quality leather jacket for 8 years that never fit. When I first put it on it was pretty tight in the shoulders but I kept wearing it inside and outside and it fits great now. I don't ride a motorcycle but this jacket has always been my style I wear it with my bullet belt. My only small complaint is that I wish the buckle had a snap button. I would recommend this jacket to a young metal head like myself or any old timer who my not be sure about. It is worth the price.
It is such an incredible privilege to be, at long last, a proud owner of one of your absolutely astounding jackets!
40 odd years in the longing and just 4 days from ordering to wearing (I live in the UK)!
The quality is unbelievable and way surpassed any of my expectations even though the wonderful reviews had primed me.
Schott, you are one seriously special Company.
Thank you so, so much for helping me realize my dream.
I ordered this jacket as do I got it 2 days later, you cannot beat that at all, I own several Schott leather jackets, they are all top notch in quality and craftsmanship, this 618 jacket is no different, this jacket will last a lifetime.I am totally in love with all my Schott leather jackets.
Irving Schott created the motorcycle jacket. Schott NYC started it all. An iconic American symbol. This jacket is an investment; a lifelong one.
This jacket was everything I wanted in a jacket and more. Stylish when out around town and built for a purpose when riding my motorcycle across the country. I love the look and feel. If you are on the fence about this, do yourself a favor stop thinking about it and pull the trigger you will be as happy as a kid on Christmas.
I feel like this review is premature. This jacket is so stiff right now, but I can feel that the leather is begging to be worn; it squeaks and creaks in a really satisfiying way. What I really want is a broken-in leather jacket that I have been wearing for 10 years, but I'm enjoying a stiff new jacket while it lasts.
I am 6'0", 175 lbs and I got a size 40. I am planning to wear it mostly in spring/fall, so I wanted to be able to wear it with a light sweater. I have plenty of room in the chest and the belly, right now the tightest thing is the sleeves, so the zippers at the cuffs are used every time.
The most surprising thing is how wind-proof it is. Maybe it's because this is my first leather jacket, but between the stiffness of the new steerhide and all the flaps and overlaps, putting this jacket on is less like doning a garmet and more like entering a very small building.
The comment in the Overview that "making this jakcet your own requires a profound committment" really resonated with me. Schott has done their part to make a really amazing jacket. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. I'm going to take care of it for a long time.
Everyone else has written about what great leather and masterful tailoring goes into these 618s. I'd totally agree but would like to talk about how helpful Schott is with making a purchase. I fed my dimensions and personal information into the sizing app on the Schott site. It said I should order a size 46. I started up a chat with Denice on the site and she provided me with the dimensions for the other sizes. I ended up ordering the 46, knowing how easy it is to exchange with Schott. Well, the 46 was perfect - fit like a glove, almost as if it had been personally tailored for me.. I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived the next day. Thank you Schott. You guys are amazing!
This is the ultimate leather jacket I’ve been saving up to get for a few years now. I suspected that this model in particular would have a snug fit so I decided to order a size 44 (my chest size was about a 41 and I wasn’t able to find anyone to measure my waist so I didn’t want to take a chance in buying a size that would be too tight and end up returning it to wait a few extra days). All that being said, the leather is superb, smells nice, and it is definitely a jacket I’m probably going to wear many years down the road. 👍🏾
I’m 5’5 and was worried about getting the sizing right, especially as shipping to Australia is expensive. Jerri at customer service emailed me the full specs and although my chest is closer to 38 I went for size 36 as I had a couple of jackets at home very close to the same specs. I am very happy with the fit! It’s snug as it should be but zips up no problems, and I like the underarm footballs as it does make movement easier. I haven’t quite broken it in yet, so the leather is still a bit stiff. The 618 and 613 are the shortest motorcycle jackets from Schott and this is the perfect length for someone short like me. The sleeves are great length too. One small wish would be that it had a button to fasten the belt buckle when wearing the jacket open, like the 118 has...
Heavyweight, thick leather Jacket, High Quality and exactly what I was looking for! Ordered both a brown and a black one. In the past I practically lived in my leather jackets. I wonder if I will do that again.
