The leather is of good quality, not surprisingly. I expected nothing less from Schott. But two things are bothering me about this belt. First, the decision to secure the buckle and loop with a snap instead of a permanent rivet that can't be undone is puzzling to me. I've never seen a a belt made this way. It already unsnapped once when it snagged a seam in my pants as I was taking it off. And it's not a particularly difficult snap either. I hope it doesn't become a problem. It would be really annoying to have to keep snapping the buckle back onto the belt. And two, the little bend in the prong that is intended to "hug" the frame of the buckle is not bent in the right spot. It's a little short of the belt frame so the tip of the prong sits against the frame instead of the bend like t's supposed to. This is just poor QC and should've been caught. Unfortunately the $14 Timberland belt I have is a better belt for these two reasons. I expected better of a made in USA item at this price point.

I have been searching for a new casual belt. The price point on this was the same (even less) than similar belts at higher end retailers and their belts were not mom and pop made in the US. The quality is extraordinary - I highly recommend. I ordered black, will return for brown.

I was looking around for good quality belts, then I happen to remember that I purchased a beautiful pea coat for my son at Schottnyc. This store is just amazing !! Then I was able to purchase two belts they have a customer for life.

Probably would have given it 5 Stars but sizing info was accurate. This belt runs quite large. Info said order same size as waste of jeans I wear or one size up.

I ordered my size 38 and I have to cinch to the last hole. If Loose even a little weight, the belt will be worthless.

Be careful with size because Schott will not replace it once ordered.

**** Note from Schott -Old school belt companies use a measurement from the edge of the buckle to the middle hole punch to determine length in inches. By that standard someone who's waist measures 34 inches will never fit a size 34 belt. We think that is silly. Therefore we added 2 inches so that someone who actually measures 34 inches can buy a 34 belt without having to do any math. We think this is the better way to go.

In regards to the replacement comment, I think there may be some misunderstanding here. We will not replace/exchange an item if it has been worn, but of course we will accept a return after it has been ordered. As long as it is unworn and the tags are still attached and it is within the return period, we will accept a return/exchange.
