Cavalry Twill is a type of heavy weight twill fabric that is woven with a double warp yarn which gives the fabric distinctive diagonal lines, as well as offering extra strength and durability. The name Cavalry comes from the fact that it was originally used to make uniforms for Cavalry soldiers that needed tough fabrics to withstand horseback riding.
