Great comfy lightweight

I'm a big fan of Schott and have a closet full of their jackets. I love them all but they are all waist length and I wanted something hip length.

I ordered the 915 Car Coat in black size XL . I am 5'11" 215 lbs and usually a size 46 or XL from Schott fits me perfectly. However the 915 was tight across the shoulders and chest. I returned it for a 2XL and it fit perfectly everywhere except the sleeves were too long so I had to send it back to Schott to shorten the sleeves. My local seamstress was unable to shorten the sleeves because they have a half cuff that she could not shorten.
I don't mind sending it back to Schott because it is a very nice coat and worth the extra effort. It is a light jacket without a liner so I don't believe to will be super warm but it will be great over a shirt or light sweater. The leather is very soft, top quality (of course) and has an excellent feel to it, The length is perfect, not too long or too short and I am looking forward to wearing it next fall and winter. Overall, I am very happy with this Car Coat!!

Nice leather jacket, looks great, The jacket does
not fit properly around the shoulders. Restricts
shoulder / upper arm movement. and makes it
difficult to put jacket on and off. Needs to be
tailored or redesigned for proper shoulder and arm movement.

Nice jacket but the upper arm is too tight it seems that all leather jackets run a bit slimmer than usual fit.

...I personally prefer the longer version than the hip one

I finally walked into the NYC Schott boutique frustrated by the process of trying to get an Aero leather jacket that fit correctly. I saw the 544 nutmeg right away. It was the type of jacket I was looking for and when I put it on it fit like my old baseball glove; as if it had contoured to me by years of use. The craftsmanship, supple cowhide leather and tonality are fantastic. I bought it right there and returned my second Aero “fitting jacket” for the last time. The proud Schott history and the fact it is still made here in the US are great bonuses. I only wish I had started at Schott and will do so from now on. Thank you.

Exceptional quality. A coat to be passed down for generations. Can be worn any time of year even in the coldest of weather if you have a fleece or soft shell underneath. Sizing is spot on. Plenty of room without being too big. After having owned Schott products for several years, this is the best item yet. This is an old school coat for anyone of any age. Expensive of course, but you get what you pay for. Darn near bullet proof. Great job Schott!

Excellent transaction. Simple returns with great correspondence/communication. Great customer service. Jacket is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic craftsmanship made in the USA of course. Glad to see something this amazing is still made in this country.

The leather on this is very soft and supple,
Thinner than some Schott jackets, but still good quality. Also a very cool and different style.

I ordered the cowhide hip length car coat in black and literally had it the next day. It is beautiful and exactly as the pictures displayed. It also fit perfectly. I had been looking for this type of coat for some time without much luck. Thankfully, I stumbled upon the Schott name and will never look back. The coat is also incredibly comfortable and warm enough to wear 3 seasons and early winter. I would highly recommend. I may even get the nutmeg color.

I have been lucky enough to own a number of Schott coats and this one is equally stunning. The leather is soft, beautifully tanned, and well made. If one worried that a light jacket might be flimsy, it is anything but. If you admire the stellar tradition of Schott products, this coat will not disappoint.
