This jacket is beautiful, heavy and well crafted. I am 5-8, 180lbs with a slim/muscular build, 39" chest, and shorter arms. I originally ordered a medium, and was swimming in it. Exchanged for a small and it fits snug, but like a glove. The arms hang just below my wrist, but not down to the thumb. I think the glare in the picture does a disservice to the finish, it is more matte in person and looks much better in my opinion. The collar is a bit large, but not enough to look that out of place. I think the lining pattern/material could be improved, but it has little to no effect on the overall impression. The zips are incredibly heavy duty, to the point that they are not the easiest to open, but I assume they'll loosen up with use. No zips on the hand pockets or large internal pocket. This jacket will take some time to break in, but at around 7 pounds of heavy duty leather, it will last a lifetime I'm sure.
I'm 5' 10" 170 lbs, 41" chest, 18” shoulders. Ordered a Medium based on the fit guide but returned as it was too large for me. This jacket seems to have a more “standard” i.e. boxy/less slim fit and was much too roomy in the chest and abdomen. Sleeves were also too wide and long.
However, the leather is really nice, Very thick, heavy, and waxy with a beautiful pull up effect. If I lived somewhere colder I likely would have tried the size Small just on account of the leather, but I actually think this jacket is too heavy for the warmer climate where I live (SoCal).
Other notes; the lining did not bother me at all. It’s not “classy” looking but looks fine. Some have said the collar is big and I agree. Stylistically it did not work for me, but it could look fine depending on body shape or other features. Construction is A+ and the jacket feels extremely solid and hefty. Happy the shoulder gussets are there as well.
All in all a really nice jacket, just not the right fit for me and probably not ideal for a warmer climate.
For reference I am 5'10" 165 lbs with a 40" chest. Size small fits perfect for a slim athletic build. The jacket looks great, smells great, and the quality of the leather is incredible. The old school brown lining is awesome and fits the theme of a retro heavyweight jacket. I can't wait to purchase another Schott jacket soon.
This is one amazing jacket! The quality and style are well above the price point of this jacket. The leather is thick and have no doubt the jacket is of heirloom quality. I can’t wait to make this jacket mine and watch it age and patina over the years.
Superb quality and craftmanship, a great fit and should last a lifetime.
Let me start by saying I’m 5’10 and 180 lbs. I initially ordered a large size, but found it too big. I had no problems returning it for a medium and I am very happy with it. The quality is premium, the patina stunning, and I feel lucky to have the privilege to wear such a well crafted garment. I have leather jackets my Father wore decades ago and have no doubt that the 673 will be worn by my children. Keep up the good work Schott.
Jacket is super! I am a big guy at 5'10", 265, and the xxl fit me just fine. Sleeves are not too long for me (I have long arms) at all. The leather is perfect and a bit heavier than I thought it would be, which is not a bad thing. It's a beautiful jacket and I really enjoy wearing it. Nothing but compliments when I do! Thank you!
Just received this jacket. I’m 6’2 and 170 lbs. Don’t like loose and baggy fit so I ordered the medium.
Fits perfectly. Not too tight and has plenty of room for movement but also not too big and baggy. Fits snug but enough room for a light sweater underneath. Very heavy. You can feel the quality. Customer service was excellent. Answered my questions about fit very quickly. Very happy with this purchase!
The jacket is a superb piece of clothing. It has the durability and aesthetic I was looking for. The sleeves are about an inch too long which will be remedied with a brief return to Schott. Heavy Duty rugged protection.
Great jacket of thick leather; a keeper for decades that will only get better with time and wearing. My third Schott jacket, and we bought two for our sons. A classic American company from product to shipping to customer service. Bravo!
