The 530 is a classic cool, no-frills leather jacket that looks perfect on the road or off the beaten path. Similar to the popular Model 141 but designed with a slimmer fit, this café racer motorcycle jacket is cut by hand from cowhide that was drum dyed, creating a natural, pebbled appearance. As with all leather jackets, Schott uses only the best, highest quality leather for the 530. Durable yet supple with a soft, luxurious feel, your new jacket will feel like a second skin right out of the box, no break-in period required.
Schott believes in details. That’s why we’ve added a leather-trimmed inside breast pocket and unique, custom embossed "Schott" snap faces. The stand-up, mandarin-style collar with a snap closure protects your neck while the 100% cotton plaid lining feels smooth against your skin. You’ll find the three exterior zippered pockets with chain pulls useful for storing small but necessary items on the go. As always, the classic café racer motorcycle jacket style is still produced right here in the USA.

The Cafe Racer leather jacket design that became mainstream in the 1960's was developed in England. As soldiers were returning home after WWII they caught the bug of souping up older, prewar motorbikes. These motorcycles were raced between local pubs and cafes which created the need for a streamlined, minimalist leather racing jacket. Traveling at times in excess of 100 MPH was a fairly dangerous proposition on the roads that were more like trails at the time. Heavy horsehide and of course a strong main zipper added a certain level of protection for these speed happy daredevils. One would imagine there were wagers made and records set during these early cafe racing days.
Schott Brothers has produced a café racer leather motorcycle jacket since we produced model 666 RS for Beck in 1956. It was called a "Leather Racing Shirt" and cost $28.95 at the time. Schott also marketed our own racing jacket as the model 641XX. In the early days these leather jackets had symmetrical zippered pockets on the chest, an adjustable snap collar strap and zippered sleeve cuffs. As they were worn and abused many examples found today are missing any signs of the original inside linings.
Rooted in tradition, the Schott Model 530 continues this cafe racer style from the 50's. Based on early racer designs the 530 has changed a bit but the overall concept remains the same. Design a tight fitting, no frills mens leather jacket with a cool, refined look. We feel our Café Racer’s accomplished this and make a profound statement. AWESOME JACKET
I am a big fan of Schott jackets and have a closet full of them. I received my black 530 on 3/19/25 in size XL and unfortunatly it was way too small, I could barely zip it up. I am 5'11"/212 with a 46 chest and usually XL fits me perfectly.
I exchanged it for a 2XL and it fits me perfectly except the sleeves were way long and I had to send it back to Schott to have them take a couple of inches off the sleeves which I have done before and they do such an excellent job for a very reasonable fee.
The jacket itself is just amazing, I love the simple, clean design and it is made of nice thick leather that is incredibly soft and pliable. It feels so nice when wearing it. My son bought a 530 in brown a year ago and he wears it everyday riding his bike back and forth to work and he loves it too.
I can't wait to get it back, I'm really happy with this jacket!
FIRST HIGHER END LEATHER COAT AND LOVE IT
I've been wearing "Genuine" leather coats for a while until learning about Schott and their quality. Right out of the box there is a massive difference in quality for and finish on the 530. It feels nothing like other coats I've had, in a positive way. The leather is soft and has a nice pebbled texture, it feels far more durable than "genuine" coats. Nobody will question you if it's real leather. As far as sizing. I'm 5'9" 185-189lb, 44" chest, 17" biceps, athletic build, a size large fits me perfectly. I wouldn't be wearing a hoodie under it though unless it's very thin.
Definitely worth the price.
I SEARCHED LONG AND HARD FOR THIS ONE
I search high and low for the perfect leather jacket, and I finally found it. This jacket looks as good as it feels. It has a slimmer fit, and that was exactly what I was looking for. So many jackets look boxy, and this one has a sleeker shape. The price point is higher than a lot of other options, but this jacket is a proper investment. It will never go out of style. It will just get better with age, and I will no doubt enjoy it for the rest of my life.

Definitely room for a shirt, hoodie or thin sweater over the t-shirt. The leather is top quality. Embodies all the badass attitude you expect from a leather motorcycle jacket.

Luckily I found a 2X at a nearby Nordstroms before ordering, tried it, and it was way tight. Immediately ordered a 3X online. I’m a 2X normally and own a Schott Pea coat and a Schott drivers coat in wool. but this jacket runs small. If you’re anywhere near my size go big. When it arrived it fit perfectly and the quality is well worth the cash. The 3X cost more but at this point it’s fine. If you’re on the fence …push the buy button you will not regret it. Go big or go home!
EXACT AMERICAN PERFECTION
This product is exactly what I was looking for. I had a faux leather jacket that wore out after wearing it every day for years, and finally got to replace that with a real piece of American heritage. This leather feels of absolute quality and I really enjoy the feel. It is a leaner fit for those looking to adjust. I am 6’3 and 195lbs but this fits well for me as a L.
FABULOUS LEATHER JACKET
This is a beautiful leather jacket. I spent months researching a leather jacket to buy and I kept coming back to this one. I finally ordered it and it's everything I had expected. I am 5'9", about 165lbs and 32" waist. Medium is a perfect fit. I can wear a T shirt or sweatshirt if its cold outside. The jacket is a great fit for me. The smell and quality of the leather is great. This jacket will last me for years to come and I couldn't be happier with it. Great jacket Schott!
SCHOTT 530 BROWN
This jacket is just what I wanted. Nice soft heavy weight that doesn’t feel heavy when you have it on. The natural color and grain of the brown jacket is perfect. The zippers feel nice and smooth. I was worried I would have to go up a size after reading some reviews but, I usually wear a large and the large fit me with enough room for a light sweater or thin sweatshirt. 5’8” 170 lbs waist 34 chest 42.
