MY SIGNATURE JACKET
Reviewing now after a year of wearing it. So much character and personality in this jacket - the visual texture of the leather is amazing - rugged and rough while still having a delicate, velvety nuance.
The buffalo leather on this one is heavy and does not have the give and stretch you might expect from other leather jackets. My Schott 246 is a similar style delivery jacket that's softer, lighter, and more wearable, but which lacks the complex character, texture, and nuance in the leather.
This is styled as a delivery jacket, but in the Schott motorbike tradition this is the one I'd want to be wearing if I hit pavement at speed.
At almost 5 lbs. for a size L, this thing isn't going to give you significantly better thermal protection than a lighter leather jacket, so be advised on that.
If you're an American visiting a European or South American country known for its leather products, I like to think you'll get the unspoken respect you'd hope for when you show up in this jacket.

AWESOME JACKET & WHAT I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR
I have tried for years to find the right leather jacket that fits and looks great on me. I only can only say that you get what you pay for and Schott NYC has been doing leather jackets for a long time.
As soon as I tried this on, I knew instantly that my search was over. A perfect combination of excellent fit, beautiful rugged grain of the bison leather and classic clean design. I put this on when I get home from work and wear it around the house. Great look, feel and weight. An heirloom piece that will last forever and practical to wear anytime. Extremely happy and gettng ready to order their classic Navy Peacoat.
IMPECCABLE
Beautifully constructed leather jacket. The zipper is very solid. Construction is solid. Coat is quite heavy. Am very happy with purchase. This is my second leather coat from Schott (other one for my son purchased a year ago). Very very happy with both. MADE IN AMERICA. No better leather jacket out there.
VERY STURDY
This is my favorite casual leather jacket. It has a good amount of weight to it and feels like you put on armor. The water buffalo leather is a bit different in texture than bovine leathers. It has deeper wrinkles and sharper creases which give it a more grainy look and character. Keep that in mind as some people prefer a smoother leather. The jacket overall is quite robust and does keep warm. The quality is excellent and I would recommend as a casual brown leather jacket. Also, Schott NYC’s customer service is exceptionally helpful. Thank you for helping me find the right jacket and fit!

QUALITY!
The leather...esthetics...construction just screamed quality and the weight of it.....wow. I'd describe it as "supple armor" I'm 5.7, bout 147lbs w. chest 38. I ordered a Medium and it fit great in the chest and shoulders. The length (arms/over-all) was just too long for my proportions with this style. The sleeves went just over my knuckles with arms at rest. I didn't want to exchange for a Small as that would've compromised the chest and shoulder fit so with much sadness I had to return this beautiful jacket. I the end feel it definitely would've been well worth my money.
