Absolute work of art. It feels as good as it looks--and it gets better with every wear. I've received lots of compliments on it, including from total strangers. This has become my go-to jacket when heading out for a ride or just for a night out. The Bi-swing and underarm footballs provide a surprisingly good range of movement, and as someone who likes a slimmer fit, I don't think they add too much bulk. The sizing guide is spot-on, just make sure you select the correct fit. I did not, but Schott staff made the exchange for the right size super easy. The jacket pairs beautifully with the detachable faux fur collar.

I've worn Dainese leather jackets for bike riding and they are very t good for that use, then I heard about a horse leather jacket in the trucker style made in Japan so I got one of those a few years ago. It's a great jacket too and is good for casual wear.

But the double rider jacket was on my mine for quite some time and I began to look into those. Schott was my preferred place to look as they invented the darn things.

Turns out they make a horse leather jacket called the 618HH which had good reviews and a few videos to be found as well.

So I got one a few weeks ago and man am I pleased! The fit great - not too loose not too tight, with just the right stiffness and sheen. It's 100 degrees where I'm at so I have been wearing it in the house at night with the AC running. Did I say that man I like this jacket? Well I sure do! Bringing a sleeve to the face to enjoy the aroma brings a smile to my face and looking in a mirror shows just how good a jacket can look.

Thanks Schott for the great work!

This is my second 618HH. I ride and I don’t leave
home without it. My first 618HH is definitely
showing signs of wear, about 15 years old and living on Maui I’m always in the salt air and that’s hard on everything!! I’ve looked at other jackets
but I think they are all trying to imitate
The Schott Perfecto, anything else would just be a disappointment. Looking forward to breaking
in my new 618HH.

Unsure which size to order, I went in person to Schott’s NYC store to buy a leather jacket for riding. I expected to get a 611 steer hide in medium or 618 in size 38, but walked out with a 618 horse hide in size 40.

I’m 5’10” 175# with a lean, athletic build. The sizing calculator recommended a 42, but that was far too big. If you’re a stockier build that could work, but 40 was perfect for me——not too big, not too small, yet still able to accommodate an extra thermal layer underneath if desired.

FWIW, I didn't think I'd have any desire for the horse hide, but found it had a slightly glossier hue and noticeable better fit than the steer hide in the same size.

The footballs or gussets on the 618 and some other models are a must for any moto rider, especially if you run a bike with apes. I didn't know if it would make a difference, but it certainly does. Mandatory for any rider IMO.

Overall, the 618HH is a peak quality classic riding jacket which fits me perfectly in size 40. Schott sizing is unique, so I'd recommend visiting a store if able. I wear a size 38 in most coats/suits, yet am a definite 40 in the 618. I hope this helps and was glad I went in person.

TLDR: worth every penny, I will be passing it down to my son.

Bought the 618HH to wear on my motorcycle, not as a fashion piece (though it is definitely gorgeous). I used the size finder to get the right size (a "regular fit" so I can layer underneath when it gets cold out). What an amazing jacket! Old fashioned design and tailoring at its finest: I thought it would be for cold weather riding only, but as it turns out the double breasted cut of it funnels and flows air better than my perforated textile jackets and when it is chilly, I just zip it all the way up and the back and arms are long enough to not leave gaps in riding position (Triumph Speed Twin) while the front is short enough not to bunch up or drive the neck into my windpipe (IYKYK). Yes, as advertised it is stiff AF out the door, but I can feel it moulding to my body every time I wear it.

I have a brown 618 and wanted a black one. I was utterly torn between the steerhide and the horsehide, the look is quite different. I am truly glad I went with the horsehide. Having broken in a natural CXL horsehide I knew how lovely it is broken in. Just wearing it often is getting the break in done, albeit gradually, but it is super comfortable. I used the fit tool and it suggested a 46 for my 60+ year old 5’9” 184# 42-43” chest. The standard fit will allow a shirt and a warm layer, but it does not look oversized. Don’t fear the break in. Buy one if you’ve a notion. I would still like a black steerhide, as if I need it, but that may be a 613 in a 44 for a t-shirt fit. 2 thumbs up for the 618 HH.

GORGEOUS HORSEHIDE

I already have a 613SH HORSEHIDE side 38 Standard Fit but feel like a little bit rather relaxed fit really good and gorgeous. I purchased 618HH size 36 Slim Fit for me 5'9 / 128 lbs/Chest 35" making me feel so good too with 618M BLACK Collar. FIT GUIDE works well. Fit Preference does matter.

618HH Classic

You can’t beat the classic, sleek appearance of this jacket—it’s a true motorcycle masterpiece. Stiff at first wear, it gradually develops beautiful creases that mold to your life and movement. I have a 39” chest and own two 618s: the brown steerhide in size 38 for a slimmer henley fit, and the black 618HH in size 40 for layering. The versatility this jacket offers is unmatched.

Tough as they come.

The Schott 618 is the icon—the All-Star. This jacket is truly amazing. The leather quality is top-notch: very stiff at first, but once it breaks in, it molds to your body like a glove.

For reference, I usually wear a size 38 in the 618. My chest measures 39 inches, I’m 5’10”, 140 pounds, with a 30-inch waist and 18-inch shoulders. This time, I went with a size 40. The extra inch of room all around really helps in the shoulders and makes movement easier, especially in horsehide. Steerhide tends to break in faster, but horsehide is a bit tougher and takes longer. I followed the size chart for this purchase, and it worked out great.

Great Fit & Quality

The 618 Perfecto is definitely a must-have for leather enthusiasts. I own several leather jackets, but this one truly stands out. The quality of the horsehide is exceptional, it’s worth going the extra mile for. It’s definitely stiff at first, but that’s part of the charm. The design is classic and timeless, making it a standout piece in any collection.

RIGHTEOUS

This jacket is awesome!! It is stiff as others have said, but is already loosening up. The sizing was perfect as I followed your recommendations.
Of note: I bought this same jacket in 1987 and had I not gotten taller and chubby I could still wear it. I wore it nearly everyday and it still looks fan frink’n tastic.

An "Investment"

This is exactly what you read about, a very shiny, stiff jacket that has all the potential in the world to be molded to your body. Size 46 fit me perfectly (6', 190). Personally I like the basic liner, makes the jacket less bulky and not nearly as heavy as I expected. I know the color will change but I'm embracing the stages of the new look and what it to come as it fades and ages!

Best Moto Jacket You Can Buy

Absolutely love this jacket. Schott staff were very helpful in determining the right size.

I've received more compliments for this jacket in just a few weeks than any other piece of clothing I've ever owned.

Highly recommend!!!

Absolute perfection

First off, most important tip for everyone choosing a jacket on this website: the sizing here is spot on. My exact measures translated into a jacket that fits like a glove.

It is beautiful, shiny out of the box and stiff as hell, but its a jacket that needs to be broken in.

I bought this mainly to wear while riding, and it inspires a lot of confidence. Could not be happier.

Great Jacket!

This is my first Schott 618 HH and I love it so far. I've had it a week and yes it's still stiff after wearing it every day, around the house, even doing light work outs to break it in. On the train to NY, I got several compliments. It's heavy, shiny and????????

Fantastic!!

Buy it true to size. They recommend going up a size but it fits perfectly with my slim frame. I'm a 34 and I couldn't be happier with how it fits. The pictures don't do it justice, the deep black will take your breath away. Badass all the way. No wonder rockstars chose this jacket! The craftsmanship is unparalleled. Thank you Schott!

Consistency

Quality of the product overall is amazing.
I had previously gotten the size 38, but it felt a little too large in the back (I’m 1,83m tall and weigh 65kg, 36” in chest) and then decided to get the size 36. The fitting is better, but the shoulder lapels are way too large and look disproportionate, it seems as if they use the same length of lapels for all jacket sizes. I now feel indecisive whether to keep a jacket that fits well but makes me look weird on the shoulders or keep a jacket that doesn’t look as trim from the back for my body frame but looks good. Also, shine in both jackets is different. One had a glossy finish without being too shiny (the 38) and the 36 looked almost too shiny, which, if I keep, hope it fades a little bit.

Great Leather quality and value

When you want something a bit heavier. Holds you sucre . Makes you feel safe riding. . This jacket has a very sexy cut . Im a perfect 42 … but 44 is the size for me. The leather horse hide has a great shine and breaks in quickly. You’re going to love it for your collection. Excellent workmanship quality and value. For sure years of enjoyment ..

Wonderful!

I am about a 41 and got a 40. I'm hoping to get back to my pre-pandemic weight. As it is now, the jacket is fitted. However, I can wear a hoodie underneath and still zip it up. The pockets can't be filled since the jacket hugs my body, but that's fine. The quality is amazing. I'm pretty happy about the sizing.

Two critical comments is the Schott tape was a bit torn as maybe a heavier box was place on top of the Schott box. The tape makes it known the box contains a high-priced item. The second critical comment is the 2 front panels are not exactly the same -- the right seems not as "smooth." However, as the jacket is worn, this difference will probably go away.

I'd like to get the 641HH or another horsehide jacket in the future.

Perfecto Horsehide

The jacket is even better than on the photos on your page. The quality is outstanding. First I was a bit surprised by the price however when the jacket arrived I understood well that it is definitely worth it. H0rsehide is great, esp for upcoming fall/winter with a black sweater below it should be quite impressive.

Looks awesome, feels awesome, made of awesome.

One of the best wardrobe decisions I ever made. I'd been on the fence about getting a classic biker jacket for years, but when I saw this one, I knew it was mine. The leather is soft, crisp, shines impeccably but is sturdy, tough and rigid. The embellishments pop visually and are made to hold up. I recently got the collar accessory and can't decide if I like it traditional, or if I like to embellish my embellishments (the answer is both). To top it all off, it seems to be working some magic on the ladies too. I get lots of glances, smiles, and compliments. I'm not telling you that last part to try and impress you, I'm telling you because of how impressed I am by the people at Schott NYC. It's everything I ever wanted from one of these jackets and more.
