This jacket is inspired by the U.S. Army WW11 M-41 field jacket. First issued in 1941, the original was made of Olive drab densely woven cotton poplin with a darker olive wool lining.
We interpreted this classic style using 14 0z. 100% cotton canvas with water repellent wax coating.

A WELL-ROUNDED WINNER!
The Schott M-41 jacket (style 8436) is a great match of retro style and modern function. The flannel lining is warm and soft, while the canvas blocks cold and wind. I enjoy its features, such as bi-swing pleats, polyester-lined sleeves, insulated handwarmer pockets, and corduroy cuffs. I also appreciate the spacious chest and inner pockets. The front zipper is short but operates smoothly. It pairs with the button snap front closure for extra coverage. The button top and corduroy collar also help keep chill out, with the brown collar contrasting nicely with the khaki canvas. The fit is relaxed and true-to-size, with sleeves that are long but never obstruct. While I like the adjustable side buckles, I’m concerned about them catching. Overall, I can easily recommend the M-41 as a practical, good-looking and affordable jacket!
