Vintaged Cowhide Vandal Jacket.

If you’ve been hanging around here for a while you’ll remember that we created a jacket with the film adaption of the 1967 book The Bikeriders. we partnered with her to recreate the vintage 1950s D pocket motorcycle jacket worn by Johnny, the leader of The Vandals motorcycle club. The jacket sold out and we had a great time seeing the film and celebrating its release with everyone who came to our store parties.

When you have 110 years worth of vintage archives at your factory you become obsessed with the details and recreating them authentically. We can’t get that original jacket out of our minds and decided to try to release another version of the jacket that more accurately expresses everything it’s been through on the back of an outlaw like Johnny.

COLOR

The "Vandals" Perfecto jacket is a reinterpretation of the vintage jacket worn in the movie The Bikeriders.

The jacket has a back length of 25 inches, which is authentic to the period. We added an iridescent burgundy rainglow lining which is a nod to the red linings of the time. The D-pocket configuration is featured in our first Perfecto motorcycle jacket designed by Irving Schott in 1928.

    ABSOLUTELY GREAT

If you hesitate, just don’t, it is worth the price. The size instructions were accurate and after wearing the jacket for a few days, the leather became a little softer. I see a lot of people in the street staring at it, which confirms that it is probably the most beautiful perfecto ever made. If I had to make one criticism, it would probably be about the length in the back, a few more inches would have been appreciated for riding my motorcycle, even though it is not a big problem anyway.

    NICE JACKET, SEEMS WELL MADE.

I’m 5’9 and 185 pounds and I got a medium, fits decent but is tight around the armpit area which I hope will loosen and ease up with wear. The break in process has been a long and painful one so far but it’s making progress slowly but surely, I’m not even close to done yet. I think the “Stiffness” description that Schott gives is a tad misleading as this is one of the stiffer jackets they sell, definitely not “soft” as I’ve seen described for the same jacket but different variant. I get compliments on this all the time and the vintage variant is the way to go in terms of aesthetic as it has that extra flavor and different colors that allow you to wear this jacket with more outfits, recommended but be wary of the break in on this one.

    PERFECT!!!

Published: Thu, 9/4/2025 by Benjamin B

After much hesitation because of customs fees for shipping to France, I ordered this jacket following the size guide and it's absolutely perfect. The leather is a little stiff and noisy the first few days, but with a little leather care cream it adopted the shape of my shoulders perfectly. The distressed look is well realized and doesn't look fake - it could pass for my father's jacket in his youth!
In short, it's the most beautiful perfecto I've ever seen, and I've noticed a lot of people staring at it on the street.
Finally, the short, slightly fitted cut is perfect for motorcycling, even if I would have appreciated a little extra length in the lower back.

    STYLE STYLE STYLE

Picked one up a few days ago and love it the leather seems to be the same as the Per70 in feel and weathering. Great fit, same exactly as the regular 568 which I also have. I’m 5’9 212lbs and a size large fits great. A nice combo of style and old school feel. Just wore it out and received many compliments!
Thanks Schott for providing another great jacket.
