We consider the Model 618 as a close cousin to our popular Model 613 with just a few subtle differences, namely the 618 has Schott logo snaps and no stars on the epaulets. Perfecto® Model 618 leather jackets for men are made with U. S. sourced, chrome-tanned, drum dyed, heavyweight steerhide leather. This hide has a medium to firm “hand” and a matte finish. It is chrome tanned and processed to provide many years of use without the need for treatments or conditioners. Right out of the box this jacket will have a stiffer feel and fit. We always tell our customers that to make this leather jacket their own requires a profound commitment. Wear it often, explore the open road and watch how it conforms to your body over time. History:
The three pocket design of the Schott Perfecto® One Star dates back to the late 1940's. In those days this leather motorcycle jacket was referred to as just “Perfecto®” or “Beck model 999” (manufactured by Schott). The small coin flap pocket started out as a custom option offered in the early 50's. By 1955 this coin pocket became a standard feature of this biker-style jacket known as “the Perfecto® One Star".
Considered to be the best motorcycle jacket it caught the mainstream public's attention after Marlon Brando epitomized the coolest of cool, wearing his Perfecto® in that iconic classic film “The Wild One”. Originally referred to as "the One Star", it was officially banned from schools across the US for an entire year in the mid 50’s. Some believe this action served to make the Schott Perfecto® even more desirable to America’s young renegades with their “Wild One” tendencies. School Boards wanted to burn it and youthful rebels saved every penny to buy one. At the time, this jacket retailed for close to $50 which amounted to roughly 100 hours of work if you were a gas station attendant making fifty cents an hour!
The customized asymmetrical leather motorcycle jacket worn by Brando became the must-have anti-establishment symbol for 1950’s youth. The orders skyrocketed for this leather jacket causing Irving Schott and his son Mel to increase their workforce and expand the Schott factory. By the mid 1960’s the Perfecto® mens jackets had also caught on with the emerging rock n roll movement. Once again, due to increasing sales, Schott had grown out of their current factory on King Street in Perth Amboy, NJ. A few new factories later and still in New Jersey, Schott proudly continues this iconic American classic motorcycle jacket as the Model 618 for the wild side in all of us.

About this leather: Steerhide is a robust finished top grain cowhide leather that is as luxurious as it looks. It is plump, full bodied and rich to the touch, with a similar weight and warmth of naked cowhide. Its sealed finish offers an extra layer of protection against water, making it a practical choice for everyday wear (it’s best to keep any leather away from wetness for a prolonged period). It is then vacuum dried (instead of toggle dried) that leads to a slightly stiffer result as the fibers are not stretched and softened. Initially the leather may feel a bit stiff but given some time it will break in beautifully,m becoming butter-soft and conforming perfectly to your unique shape.
Stiffness: Very Stiff
Weight: 3-3.5oz
Origin: US Domestic Raw Material, Tanned in Mexico

SCHOTTS 618 MOTORCYCLE JACKET
I ordered a size 46 which fits perfect and I have room for a sweatshirt underneath. If I ordered a 44 it would be snug.and be more for wearing a t-shirt underneath. My perfecto 618 is dark brown and I love the fit and color. It's a very high quality jacket with excellent craftsmanship. As I just now need to break it in. If you want a American made quality motorcycle jacket of the highest quality don't hesitate to order the Perfecto!

PERFECTO 618
What an outstanding jacket! Best I’ve ever owned. Beautiful leather and hardware. I’ve been out riding a dozen times since I bought it and I’m extremely satisfied.
I’m 5’11” and 190lbs with a 44 chest and wear 32 jeans. I got a size 44 Perfecto 618 and it fits like a glove. Initially it was very stiff and I thought it might be too small. After a few rides it felt like it was molding to my body. Movement eased considerably. Any reservation I had about a tight fit vanished. It fits slim, looks tough, feels great. Exactly what I wanted.
I love this jacket.
DREAM COME TRUE
In all fairness this review is only about a week into getting this jacket. It’s undeniable the build quality of the 613 Perfecto, jacket I’ve idolized for along time. It’s fit and form is superior to many look-a-like fashion jackets. The tailored functionality is great and was the deciding factor to spend the money. There are a few complaints. The belt buckle, although sturdy, is too “diecast-ed” and I would prefer a better quality for the price. The zipper pulls for sleeves sick out and hurt things I put my arms on, I hope this improve with use. Last, the inside pocket is disappointing especially compared to cheaper brands, it’s like an after thought; however, inside pockets are important. I would recommend an improvement in both material and adding a zipper. Overall I am happy to finally own a Schott’s jacket. I’m 6’ and range between 180-190 lbs. I got a size 44 which fits well.

I ride a Triumph Scrambler 900 everyday and this jacket is the best moto jacket for my ranch/city life. Not only is it superbly crafted it is supremely stylish and feels like it was handmade just for me. Their attention to moto centric details and high quality leather is proof that the Schott bros designed the ONE and ONLY perfect Perfecto bar none and I am proud to wear this US made icon every single day until my wheels come off!

BEST LEATHER JACKET EVER!
I ordered the 618 through Moto Liberty Dallas, and I couldn't have been happier, despite the long wait time (order placed on 12/24 - shipped 1/6 - weather delay made it arrive on 1/14 instead of 1/9). It is stiff, but I know it'll break in nicely like my 613.

Great product. I ordered a 48 chest jacket. It was too tight for ME however. Exchange process was easy and cost nothing as they provided a return label. My only regret was not noticing the sizing guide BEFORE I placed my order, but that’s MY FAULT. I wish I had seen the sizing guide beforehand. There were guidelines on what size to order for the way you’d like it to fit. I look forward to getting my size 54 as I opted for a very relaxed fit. And if that arrives and it’s too big, I can get another exchange label for $9.95 to send it back and get a 52. Very reasonable. Looking forward to finding the right fit for my unusual body type. (Kinda like Goldilocks lol.

I thought that there were a lot of good leather biker jackets being made out there. But it seemed like every one that I ordered was just not right. So every one was sent back until I thought oh! To hell with it! I guess I might as well just give up and stop wasting time and money and go ahead and order the one I know will be right.
