We consider the Model 618 as a close cousin to our popular Model 613 with just a few subtle differences, namely the 618 has Schott logo snaps and no stars on the epaulets. Perfecto® Model 618 leather jackets for men are made with U. S. sourced, chrome-tanned, drum dyed, heavyweight steerhide leather. This hide has a medium to firm “hand” and a matte finish. It is chrome tanned and processed to provide many years of use without the need for treatments or conditioners. Right out of the box this jacket will have a stiffer feel and fit. We always tell our customers that to make this leather jacket their own requires a profound commitment. Wear it often, explore the open road and watch how it conforms to your body over time. The three pocket design of the Schott Perfecto® One Star dates back to the late 1940's. In those days this leather motorcycle jacket was referred to as just “Perfecto®” or “Beck model 999” (manufactured by Schott). The small coin flap pocket started out as a custom option offered in the early 50's. By 1955 this coin pocket became a standard feature of this biker-style jacket known as “the Perfecto® One Star".
Considered to be the best motorcycle jacket it caught the mainstream public's attention after Marlon Brando epitomized the coolest of cool, wearing his Perfecto® in that iconic classic film “The Wild One”. Originally referred to as "the One Star", it was officially banned from schools across the US for an entire year in the mid 50’s. Some believe this action served to make the Schott Perfecto® even more desirable to America’s young renegades with their “Wild One” tendencies. School Boards wanted to burn it and youthful rebels saved every penny to buy one. At the time, this jacket retailed for close to $50 which amounted to roughly 100 hours of work if you were a gas station attendant making fifty cents an hour!
The customized asymmetrical leather motorcycle jacket worn by Brando became the must-have anti-establishment symbol for 1950’s youth. The orders skyrocketed for this leather jacket causing Irving Schott and his son Mel to increase their workforce and expand the Schott factory. By the mid 1960’s the Perfecto® mens jackets had also caught on with the emerging rock n roll movement. Once again, due to increasing sales, Schott had grown out of their current factory on King Street in Perth Amboy, NJ. A few new factories later and still in New Jersey, Schott proudly continues this iconic American classic motorcycle jacket as the Model 618 for the wild side in all of us.

About this leather: Steerhide is a robust finished top grain cowhide leather that is as luxurious as it looks. It is plump, full bodied and rich to the touch, with a similar weight and warmth of naked cowhide. Its sealed finish offers an extra layer of protection against water, making it a practical choice for everyday wear (it’s best to keep any leather away from wetness for a prolonged period). It is then vacuum dried (instead of toggle dried) that leads to a slightly stiffer result as the fibers are not stretched and softened. Initially the leather may feel a bit stiff but given some time it will break in beautifully,m becoming butter-soft and conforming perfectly to your unique shape.

Origin: US Domestic Raw Material, Tanned in Mexico

BEST GREASER JACKET
I would say if your inspiring to be a greaser this is the jacket to buy hands down this is the same one that the iconic Marlon Brando wore in the old one it's the same model at least that's what google told me and this jacket is something similar to what James Dean wore to before he got into that crash but I definitely recommend it's a badass jacket if it doesn't break the bank but just make sure you do the research to get your right size that pretty much the only issue I have with it but yeah buy this jacket if you can
OUTSTANDING QUALITY, FIT INFO
The jacket is pretty amazing, in that the leather is well dyed, the sewing is perfect, and it seems attention was paid to the details throughout. So I will mention the few things which would I would have liked to know before I bought, but keeping in mind I would absolutely buy it again.
The jacket is light, as leather motorcycle jackets go. The leather is there and seems thick enough to qualify for casual riding, it's just light.
The 618 fit is definitely not slim, it is just short. I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs, the jacket is short enough that it doesn't balloon out which is great, but it leaves plenty of room to grow in the middle.
The forearm areas are quite tight, there is no way I could wear a watch and this jacket at the same time. For my purposes this is fine, it was just unusual because I have fairly skinny arms.
The side pockets are definitely usable for me, contrary to some reviews I've seen.
I've had several jackets in this style over the past 30 years, this one is far superior to the others in every way but most notably in that it just hangs on me more naturally.
CHOCOLATE BROWN PERFECTION !
The Schott Perfecto line of leather jackets embody a bold, rugged American Cool style & attitude that is instantly recognized anywhere and is often copied but never surpassed in both quality and value. This chocolate brown 618 is the latest addition to my large ( more than 20 ) collection of Schott jackets of various styles and vintage, and fits perfectly and feels amazing right out of the box, and will only get better with time. A luxurious alternative to the classic black motorcycle jacket look, this jacket works with and dress decor, even business casual. Some people think I'm crazy for having so many Perfectos', and I tell 'em I am...I'm crazy for Schott !
FIT WASN'T RIGHT FOR ME
5 stars because the quality, fit and finish are excellent. My recommended size for a slim fit was 42. I should have selected standard because I felt like even after breaking in I wouldn't be able to layer a hoodie under it. Also I prefer the longer 26" fit over this 25". I exchanged this for the 118 in 42 and love the fit.
MY COLLECTION
This is my 2nd story..... I decided to buy another Perfecto 618 black size 34 just to keep it in mint condition in my closet. For the other one, I will use it everyday for the rest of my life. In the future, I will buy the 613. Thanks.

If I have a regret it is not purchasing sooner. Outstanding quality with American materials and made in America. No question sizing must be correct and that is difficult with online purchases. I'll try to help: I wear a 44 suitcoat and 32 suit pants weighing 180 with about a 43" chest. I purchased a 44 but wondered if a 46 would be better. I ordered the 46 and it fit well in the chest and back, but the waist was much too large. My wife said it looked like I was wearing someone else's jacket. I kept the 44 and returned the 46. A 42 would have been much too small. I tried on the 46, but did not remove tags and did not wear it - do not abuse Schott's generosity! I can see how this is not an easy or generous fitting jacket. For some it will fit quite well, but for others it will not. It does seem to favor a somewhat athletic, somewhat leaner body. For the design, materials, and workmanship, it is very fairly priced.

This is my story….. I wanted to buy a biker jacket, but so many companies make biker jackets. So I narrowed it down to the first company to invent the biker jacket. So that’s why I chose Schott NYC. I first bought the 118 here in Canada. I think I had it for 3 years. Then I realized I wanted a jacket shorter to my waist, so I decided to buy the 618. I bought the 618 here in Canada for $1599. I tried it on and it fits perfectly, or should I say Perfecto! My chest size is 34 because I’m a skinny person, so I chose to order a size 34. Thanks Schott NYC for making the best biker jacket in the world.

I ordered a size 46 which fits perfect and I have room for a sweatshirt underneath. If I ordered a 44 it would be snug.and be more for wearing a t-shirt underneath. My perfecto 618 is dark brown and I love the fit and color. It's a very high quality jacket with excellent craftsmanship. As I just now need to break it in. If you want a American made quality motorcycle jacket of the highest quality don't hesitate to order the Perfecto!

What an outstanding jacket! Best I’ve ever owned. Beautiful leather and hardware. I’ve been out riding a dozen times since I bought it and I’m extremely satisfied.
I’m 5’11” and 190lbs with a 44 chest and wear 32 jeans. I got a size 44 Perfecto 618 and it fits like a glove. Initially it was very stiff and I thought it might be too small. After a few rides it felt like it was molding to my body. Movement eased considerably. Any reservation I had about a tight fit vanished. It fits slim, looks tough, feels great. Exactly what I wanted.
