G-1 Wings of Gold Leather Bomber Jacket

The first aviators adopted leather as their material of choice because of it's durability, warmth, and good looks. In the spirit of American individualism, American soldiers preferred to decorate their leather bomber jackets with unit patches, nicknames and paintings. This heavily decorated 27" G1 flight jacket is made in thick supple antique lambskin, with detachable sheepskin fur collar and side entry pockets. The outside patches are authentic replicas of those worn by aviators. The detailed liner tells the story of the coveted "Wings of Gold", a rigorous two year flight school training program to which Naval Aviators are subjected. This jacket is imported. Available in black and antique.

Got jacket today xxxL...amazing looking jacket looks and feels like a great quality jacket with good detail. Im 5 11 230lbs with a 50inch chest. Seems the jacket is a bit big but not to big to the point where I feel like I need to spend a month with the exchange process but might look into it anyway.... sleeves are about an in to long and feels like the chest has about 2 inches that could be taken out yet still leave it a regular fit jacket the length of the jackets is perfect for my height....if you are on the lower end of the sizing scale for the size of jacket they recommend id get the next size down

Hereby my comments on your Jackets:

As you know I’m purchasing your good products since many years. (1 bomberB3, 2 G1TG, 1 G1S, 3 A2SM). The jacket which fits me the best is G1TG: although on my opinion the system of the snap down collar etc. of the A2SM more efficient and durably is. I wear my jacket more or less 365 days a year. Even at night, when I’m sleeping the jacket does not leave me an instant.

This has to be the coolest jacket I've ever seen - and this coming from someone who now owns FIVE Schott Jackets (one parka, one Melton wool Peacoat, two leather peacoats and this magnificent piece of work).

No exaggeration - this jacket is one true beauty right out of the box! The second I took it out of the box, a colleague walked by and complimented it...and I hadn't even tried it on yet! The patches are the icing on the cake, but at the same time they do not overtake the beauty of the jacket itself. The lambskin leather is perfect and actually looks aged right from the start.

Many thanks to Jerri for helping me choose the right size - what I feared would be too small actually fit me perfectly! So many, many thanks to her and to Schott in general!
