This jacket is a Heavy thick leather jacket made very well and a jacket fits awesome The leather is top quality
Very pleased with this jacket, particularly for the price. Materials and construction appear to be excellent. This is an actual Moto jacket, and so it is heavy and the leather is very thick and firm out of the box. I've been wearing mine for about a week, and it is starting to soften up and form to me the way cowhide is supposed to. What was stiff and uncomfortable at first, already feels like it was made for me. Mine isn't as distressed or as shiny as the one in the photos, which is fine by me. In terms of fit, just use the fit guide that Schott provides (and notice that it offers three different settings - slim, standard, relaxed).
Note that Moto jackets are supposed to fit snug, unlike a Bomber that is more relaxed. Also be prepared for the sleeves to be a touch longer than you would find on a casual leather jacket (again, a moto jacket feature). The cuffs on mine stop at the base of my thumb, which is exactly right where they are supposed to for this style. Again, this is the real thing, not a fashion version.
It is great to see such high quality items being made in the US. You could spend a LOT more on a leather jacket without doing any better. Highly recommended for those want the real thing.
Great jacket, top quality materials and fit, I'm 6ft 165lbs fit condition I went with a small and fits like a glove
I had a 641 horsehide jacket that I loved, but I lost weight (good) and it was too big for me (bad). Gave it to my son. I've been looking for a replacement that didn't break the bank and ordered this last Tuesday and it arrived Sunday. I'm 5 10, 165 lbs and 60 years old. The guide told me to order a large, but based on some of the reviews I ordered a medium and it fits absolutely perfect ... with a little room to spare. VERY heavy weight leather and the brown is more of a chestnut color. Don't mind the weight of it because I'm wearing it for protection, but saying that, I would not wear it when it gets over 80 degrees outside. Yes, it's a little stiff out of the box, but that doesn't bother me at all. Has the usual high standard of quality that Schott is known for. The finish on the leather has just the right amount of markings on it to make it looked that's it's a well worn jacket. Most of my riding jackets are not used for anything off the bike. This one may be the only exception because it just looks that good. Love it.
Probably my favorite purchase from Schott so far - have bought several and loved them all for quality and style - each a bit unique. This one doesn't disappoint and is easily my favorite - a bit less biker and more an everyday wear for me. Fit is great - I am 6'1 180Lbs and ordered a large - wears a bit loose but not baggy and perfect for a light sweater underneath ... length is great and the leather - man the leather is awesome - heavy and ready to break in for years to come. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on the Schott product. Never has failed me yet.
I'm not sure I've ordered anything else that has been nicer than what I expected. It is definitely a heavy jacket, but it doesn't bother me. High quality, good looking, and comfortable.
I'm not writing reviews, but now I have to make an exception. Beauty, quality, perfection!
It’s a great quality jacket worth the price! It’s a really heavy jacket good for spring, fall, and winter. I’m 5’6 and weigh 120 lbs, I got a small and it fits me great! This wont be my last from Schott!!
I am overwhelmingly happy with my new cowhide leather jacket.
The FedEx air freight to Sydney, Australia was delivered on promised date. Excellent shipping.
Thank you very much.
This jacket is beautiful, heavy and well crafted. I am 5-8, 180lbs with a slim/muscular build, 39" chest, and shorter arms. I originally ordered a medium, and was swimming in it. Exchanged for a small and it fits snug, but like a glove. The arms hang just below my wrist, but not down to the thumb. I think the glare in the picture does a disservice to the finish, it is more matte in person and looks much better in my opinion. The collar is a bit large, but not enough to look that out of place. I think the lining pattern/material could be improved, but it has little to no effect on the overall impression. The zips are incredibly heavy duty, to the point that they are not the easiest to open, but I assume they'll loosen up with use. No zips on the hand pockets or large internal pocket. This jacket will take some time to break in, but at around 7 pounds of heavy duty leather, it will last a lifetime I'm sure.
