Waxy Natural Cowhide 50's Perfecto® Motorcycle Leather Jacket

Designed and built for the long haul, the short ride, and everything in between, the 519 is made from hand cut panels of full aniline, mid-weight cowhide with a soft, buttery feel that will last for years without the need for treatments or conditioners. More suited to fashion than riding, this 26” long jacket is a bold, retro version of its older brother, the Perfecto® 613. It has the same elements like the asymmetrical front zipper and snap down lapels and collar but offers a slimmer fit and a tighter cut in the arms. The large back panel design, a signature of Schott's uncompromising Perfecto® quality, makes it incredibly easy to move in this jacket, while the 3-oz quilted insulation keeps you comfortable and warm.

Fit and Construction:

Our 519 was designed as a retro version of the popular 613. The is one of our slimmer leather motorcycle jackets which is more suited for fashion than riding. Perfecto® Model 519 leather jackets are made with chrome-tanned, drum dyed, plump cowhide leather. You will find this jacket to be very comfortable to wear the moment you first try it on.

Incorporating more of a fashion fit, the 519 is cut tighter in the arms. We also removed the underarm footballs for a more streamlined fit. The open sleeve cuff design and rounded shoulder epaulets were born in the late 1920's on our first zippered leather motorcycle jacket, the model 1928. Another change that was made from our original 613 design is the added snap near the belt buckle. This was done to keep the heavy buckle in place even when the belt is open. This Perfecto® model 519 motorcycle jacket was designed and built for the long haul, the short ride, and everything in between!

As with all Perfecto® leather jackets, Schott only uses the best, highest quality leather available. In the same tradition used in the 50's, highly skilled workers hand-cut each panel for the 519.

About this leather:
Our medium weight top grain naked, pebbled cowhide is a testament to timeless elegance and rustic charm. Each open pore hide is drum dyed, culminating in a matte finish that speaks to those with an appreciation for understated luxury. The leather undergoes a special tumbling process, enhancing its texture to reveal a pebbled natural grain. This softens the leather without diluting the strength.

LARGE OR EXTRA LARGE

Great Jacket although... careful consideration as with my build -
Height 6'
Chest 44"
Waist 33"
Arms 17"
Shoulder to shoulder width 20.5".

Advised by SCHOTT to size up as I kinda lay between the two sizes. Good advice, thank you SCHOTT NYC.

The large fits me well in the mid section of the body, But tight in the shoulder width and therefore uncomfortable.

The Extra Large is boxy in the body mid section (Relaxed fit) Although this will be good for layering.
Most importantly, Shoulder width is perfect and therefore extremely comfortable. No tightness divets or bite.

"Shoulder divots/bite:
These are indentations or creases that form at the top of the sleeve seam near the shoulder, indicating a fit issue"

Most of the models wearing Jackets seem to be way too tight. Personally I prefer comfort with a street relaxed fit edginess. My 519 fits like the images of the Style; PER70.

The 519 is a FAB Jacket and the leather is just the right amount of soft and weighty. The Goldilocks zone ★

Perfect jacket . Top notch quality. Quick delivery . I was hesitant at first due to the high cost , but that quickly went away when I put on the jacket for the first time . I’ve purchased many other high end luxury jackets but this will be my go to from now on.

This is my third jacket from Schott. It is absolutely beautiful. I am 5'10 175lbs with athletic build. I had to go with the large due to my wide shoulders. I love the slimmer cut of the 519. The quality is amazing. Made in the good ole USA.....2imho just get a Schott, there are no substitutes.

I’m 5’9”, 160 lbs, 37” chest, 32” waist. Small fits like it was made for me whether worn open or zipped and belted up.

As others have mentioned it’s snug around the gut and belt and while I expect it to break in slightly with wear, it’s hard to imagine someone who sits tight in 34 Levi’s will be comfortable in a small.

IF you are like me, with a long, slim torso for your height you’ll find the back flap is long enough to cover your midriff and belt, but still short enough to elongate your legs. That’s right boys. It even makes you taller.

I’ve owned many motorcycle leather jackets over the years. Vanson, RSD, Dainese, Alpinestar, but nothing even comes close to the 519. I wanted more of a fashion leather and that’s why I choose the 519. I’m 6’1 185lbs with a 32 inch waist. After reading all of the reviews I went with a small and I’m happy with my choice. It is tight and hits just at my belt with the sleeves landing just passed my wrists. The more I wear it the more it conforms to my body. The medium would have been ideal if I wanted to layer, but since I won’t be riding much in this coat I’ll only be wearing a tee shirt underneath it. The leather of this coat is like a velvety butter, so soft but thick. It just begs for you to put it on. The 519 is unlike any coat I’ve owned. I’m looking forward to many many years with this and it will only get better with time. So happy I pulled the trigger. I’m sure customer service was sick of me but they are extremely helpful. Even though I went against their judgment and got the small lol.
