The coat looks great, and it arrived very quickly, which is why the 2 stars (instead of 0-1). I followed the sizing guide and it fit great in the shoulders and chest, but the Fit through the waist/torso was huge (especially for something that was supposed to be sized for a “slim fit”). The sleeve fit incredibly tight, like wearing blood pressure cuffs from my shoulders to my wrists.
Thick, warm, stylish, well made. Has all the characteristics of a timeless great coat.
Try it on, the "size fitter tool" told me to get a size 40, but the 38 was a better fit.
I tried Peacoats from three different stores and this one was by far the best quality. The material is heavy and feels stiff initially, but that appears to be giving way. The color is a dark navy and the leather stitching is a nice subtle touch. I didn’t think I’d like the red lining, but it doesn’t bother me and sort of adds to the patriotic feel of the jacket. It is slim fitting. I’m a 41” chest 32” waist 32/33 sleeved 160 pounds. From other reviews, I ordered one size down instead of up. It fit perfectly, a bit tight with a light or medium sweater, but not unbearable. It gave me the fitted v shape look from the back you see in the picture. I ordered the size 40 as well to test. The sleeves were a bit longer and gave me a more boxy look that wasn’t appealing. In my opinion order one size down for the fitted trim look, or get your exact size for a more relaxed fit. If you have a gut, the trim fit may not be the best choice. Customer service was great in the return process. Would have liked a free return since I kept one of the jackets.
This coat is beautifully made and is comfortable and warm. The fit around my arms and shoulders is perfect. It could have been a bit slimmer around the waist. I ordered a standard fit. I am not sure if the slimmer fit is just around the waist or all over. My chest is 42" and waist 36". I ordered a size 42. Anyway it is a very nice coat.
Like others who posted I will say the forearms and arm movement can be a little restricting and tight however, after wearing the coat for a week, it has loosened up and the fit is now perfect. If your shoulders are properly sized, these coats will break in nicely. The stitching precise, there are no flaws in the fabric, and the liner allows you to easily get your arms in and out. All class! For reference my size is 190 lbs, 6'2" and I ordered the 42.
This is an awesome well-made coat that fits really well. I'm 5"11' 190lbs with a 42 in chest and the 42 fit well with a heavy sweater under it.
Fit as should. Quality materials and warm. This is a great jacket to replace my 9yo pea coat.
I've had this jacket for about 4 years. My true chest size is about 38.5", 165 lbs and 5'-9" tall. The 38 was a bit too wide in the shoulder, chest and sleeves. The 36 is perfect with a LS shirt underneath, but given the fabric thickness, thicker sweaters push the mobility issue, so I strictly use this jacket with thin layers under.
Craftsmanship is impeccable. Four years and still going strong!
This Schott jacket is exceptionally smart looking with leather trim accent & the superb quality of Schott craftsmanship.
