I am blown away by this gorgeous, navy blue, naked cowhide leather jacket. And as a jacket collector who owns several dozen jackets, including at least twelve Schotts, it’s hard to blow me away. This thing is gorgeous to look at and even better to touch — like a beautiful woman. Then I put it on and it fits so nicely. I used the Schott Fit Guide on the product page for this jacket and it said that at 6’0”, 225 pounds, with a 46” chest, I should order a 2XL, so I did. And it’s a good thing, too. I can wear this, it’s a bit snug, but it’s not at all confining.
I wear a size 46” suit or sport coat, and I usually wear size XL in most other brands of leather jackets, like Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle. And they fit me perfectly. But I have to go up to a size 48 for my Schott jackets, like my 118 and. 689H. For my 618HH, a slimmer fitting model, I went up to a size 50 because I want to be able to layer under that awesome horsehide.
The best part is I have several pairs of blue boots to wear while riding in this jacket, including Wesco waxed flesh engineer boots, Allen Edmonds dress boots with a medallion cap toe, plus blue suede Red Wing Iron Rangers, and Red Wing smooth Navy Portage moc toes with the white wedge soles and the same boots in Indigo Portage, a lighter blue. I have wanted a blue leather motorcycle jacket for a long time and now I have a great one.
The only change I would make would be to have antique brass zippers, snaps and belt
buckle instead of the black, but that’s not too important. The black hardware isn’t bad.
This is my third Schott leather jacket the other two being a leather style 140 Pea coat and a Perfecto 613S.
This purchase was pure indulgence as I had only recently purchased the 613S but I liked the idea of a dark navy colour Perfecto.
The jacket arrived promptly as usual into the UK and I was not disappointed. Typical great Schott quality and the colour makes it look more casual and less edgy which I like.
The leather although a good thickness is a lot more supple than my 613s and I expect to wear this the most.
Also I liked the handy press stud next to the buckle to secure it when the jacket is being worn unzipped. This isn't a feature on my 613S. Maybe Schott will supply one that I could get fitted.
All in all a good buy that I an absolutely pleased with.
