I've been looking for an A2 jacket forever! I was so stoked when I saw Schott had made one even though the collar was sherpa. I really wanted an old school A2 jacket with the pointed cotton collar. Oh well. The price is pretty good for the great Schott quality. However, Schott's website doesn't provide the measurements like how other online retailers do which is something I really hate. So, I ended up driving an hour and a half to the flagship store near me to try this jacket on. I've found out the Perfecto series cut all of the jacket pretty slim. I'm usually a size 40, 42, M or L in other traditional cut. But I had to buy a XL. I have a size 44 inch chest with a size 34 to 36 inch waist (depending on what I've eaten during the day, Ha!), 5 foot 7 inches tall and being 185 lbs on a bad day (Ha!), The size XL is a bit tight on my back and has a fair share of movement in the mid section which is something I really don't like. I guess Schott don't cut jackets for chubby weight lifters. The customer rep/manager of the store told me any jackets should fit a bit tight on my back which usually don't allow for much movement. Ummmm, no dude, I appreciate you doing your job and try to sell me your jacket but MY denim jacket fits really well across my back, allow my arms for movement and fits pretty well on me. Anyhow, I bought the jacket on sale for $295. You can't beat the quality for the price point. But, I'm so over these "let's slim out jackets to fit all the tall, lanky hipsters" fit. Just gimme the traditional fit! Overall, this has been a positive buy.
Excellent, well made coat. I had one years ago, I found it in a construction warehouse in Hamden Conn, behind a pile of tools on a shelf, covered in dust. This coat was from the Korean war. Similar quality then as now.
Nice jacket albeit a bit overpriced for what you get, I mean it's not leather. Runs super small, I'm 5'9 180lbs with 36in waist and needed a 2xl, the XL fit if i was wearing a t shirt but no room to layer. Typical Schott quality.
