About this leather: Our naked cowhide leather is a premium top grain cowhide that combines comfort and durability. The leather boasts a naturally tight open pore structure that ensures a softer touch and superior comfort. Its weight and warmth are on par with deluxe heavy steerhide. The full aniline, drum dyed process preserves the leather’s texture, enhancing its natural grain with a subtle, semi-matte finish. It is then vacuum dried (instead of toggle dried) that leads to a slightly stiffer result as the fibers are not stretched and softened. The leather is designed to age gracefully and expand its characteristics over time.

Came upon my 20+ year old coat while decluttering in preparation for a move. Haven’t worn in over a decade living in the south, but am thrilled to see it’s still in immaculate condition (and still fits!) since we’re headed back north. Blown away by what they cost now, but it’s a classic style that will last a lifetime.

Had to do an exchange - super simple. Took this jacket with me to Scotland and Ireland in October. Was the perfect jacket for this guy from Los Angeles not built for real weather.

I’m currently 262 at 6’4”, and the 48 fits me well. Yeah, it could be a bit more fitted in the waist , but I knew this from previous reviews and wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I wear this with my thick cable knit wool sweater and I’m good to go. I gave it 4 stars because most people don’t believe the 5 star reviews.

I have been going crazy buying lots of Schott jackets lately. This is my coat/only longer Schott, so it’s nice to have. It was also my first Schott jacket. Love it. It is heavy and thick. Wear it battling alien invasion and you’ll be the lone survivor!
*Sizing: I’m 6’0” tall, 210 lbs. I went with size 42, even though the Schott fit guide says 44. In hindsight I should’ve gone for the 44, to allow more winter layering. But the 42 looks good because it’s such a substantial coat, and because of double button style, that there’s still room.
I continue to be impressed by Schott quality. The Schott customer service is the best!

ALMOST 25 YEARS LATER... STILL GREAT

I bought one of these in 1998: saw it in a window in Milano and fell in love,
It was expensive then too, but I've worn it and worn it, and still wear it: it looks great and it's warm, exceptionally well made and gets better every year. It has resisted bad weather in many spots of the Northern hemisphere, and quite a few kidnapping attempts by partners and friends (yes, I've let them wear it from time to time!).
The only drawback: it's heavy. A friend of mine used to call it Norman, like the calf in City Slickers, but it's worth the effort....
I'll probably end up leaving it to one of my nephews one day – the Crazy Aunt legacy.
    Thank you Schott!

    Size M

    Weight 154 lbs

    Waist 30"

Just taken delivery of my Style 140 Pea Coat.
After a lot of agonising over size which I needed to get right living in the UK I was not disappointed at all.
Size M fitted perfectly in both sleeve length and chest size.
Very impressed with everything. Construction, stitching and leather quality (better than the dubious quality available here in the UK).
Very very happy and now looking at a Perfecto to go with it.

Beautiful, heavy coat of the highest quality and craftsmanship. I got the brown one, its even better looking than the pics on the website. My 3rd Schott leather jacket/coat and my favorite so far.
This coat will last a lifetime. Thanks Schott, for the super fast delivery.

    PEERLESS QUALITY

Over 50 years ago, when I was about 18, I fell in love with a Schott brown leather jacket (141). Over the next couple years I purchased 3 more Schott leather coats of various styles. Then life happened. A couple years ago I bought another brown 141 (larger size now) and now a brown pea coat. The term peerless quality is not an exaggeration. Kudos to Schott for still providing this level of U.S. quality.

Great looking and well made jacket. May run a little big - I ordered a 44L (the size I wear in a Schott Perfecto) should have ordered a 42L. Schott gladly offered an exchange.
