I want to mark it's was free exchange and return ... thank you very much, exchange was fast ... receiving size S, I observed on left pocket a button didn't was fixed well ...I contacted Schott customer care and I send jacket back, customer care said in time of 5 business days they will send another one, again return and exchange was free which was very appreciated! Good thing was size S was fitting perfect, today I received another jacket, visually inspected it's looking perfect! I want to rate 5 stars because after this experience I consider Schott definitely deserve it in all! Quality, service and everything ...now I'm thinking to buy another one ...
Thanks you very much .
Surprised at how heavy it is. You can immediate tell it’s high quality leather and construction. Cut perfectly for thin, athletic build. Everyone is right - the arms are longer than normal which was perfect for me. I’m 6’4” and 175lbs athletic cut and the size M fits me like a glove. I’m not sure how a short person could fit in it, must be cut specifically for taller build. Get compliments every time I wear it
The service was good from the company and the jacket was very nice but too small.
I am 5'10", 170 lobs and should be able to wear the medium.
I'm 5'9" 190lb, and based on reviews, as well as a Schott bomber jacket that was WAY too big in Large, I purchased a medium. And it didn't even come close to fitting. Very tight in the shoulders, and absurdly tight in my chest and midsection. Couldn't even come close to zipping it, yet the arms were 2" too long (and non-adjustable cuffs).
The reviews here suggested to me that this is roomy, and that sizing down might be appropriate, but I didn't find that to be case at all. This felt like a "skinny young dude with long arms" jacket.
But I will say that it's a beautiful jacket. Great color (darker than photo suggests), soft aged leather, and great price. So if you have the physique to wear it, definitely go for it. I was very upset that it fit so poorly on me, but that's more of a reflection on my middle-aged body than the jacket. If I were 30lb skinnier, it'd be a keeper for sure.
This is really a great jacket that like other reviews below alluded to has garnered a steady stream of compliments. Moreover, it is a fairly unique offering in the Schott catalog that is being phased out as well. Not that it was a style that was exceedingly popular whilst in production.
While I did give serious consideration to the Storm and to a lesser extent the 530 amongst others, I really dig the sycamore color and the mid weight waxed leather is outstanding. In regards to the 530, as a non motorcyclist, it felt like an affectation to rock one. That said, I do wish the John Hancock had the same lining as either the 530 or Storm and am entertaining ditching the cotton lining in the body of the jacket and especially the nylon in the sleeves with an tartan all cotton lining.
Fit is pretty good for me in a large at 6 feet out of shoes and 180 pounds. Sleeves are a bit large but the length is perfect. Have had zero issues achieving a satisfactory fit with the adjustments on the back and the jacket is quite comfortable out of the box.
The details on this jacket are awesome and the longer I wear it, the more I like it. Should any of the remaining sizes work for you, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Especially at what it is on sale for. At $890 it is a solid value, at $500 or so, holy crap.
In addition, it is not a style you see out there.
While a delivery jacket, the detailing is quite different from say the Sunset Delivery Jacket which I also seriously considered.
Awesome fit. Beautiful leather. Truly Just a fantastic jacket.
I've worn this jacket now for several months and have mixed feelings about it. Great leather; thick, soft, yet protective. Excellent vintage style low luster finish but needs to be wiped down much more frequently than a shiny finish because it's kind of a dirt magnet (I motorcycle).
Now about the fit, somewhat disappointed here, and it's why I docked 2 stars. I'm 5'10" muscular 180lbs, 42 chest, 32 waist and normally wear large. This jacket fit me great in the shoulders where I wouldn't want it any smaller, but it's rather unattractively loose in the waist even with the buckles tightened all the way.
The jacket looks decent when I wear it open but awkward when zipped up because it's kind of a bell shaped thing on a V shaped guy. I even considered throwing it in the washer and dryer to shrink it up but will probably just be safe and have it altered instead.
Overall, great quality jacket with a unique finish and style. Perfect if you need lots of belly room, but not if you're looking for a trim fit.
Perfect jacket. Got two compliments the first day I wore it. Gave her your contact info. Looks great with my cowboy hat too!
Color, style, weight and hide as represented. Quality product.
I may be the first one to review this jacket. I have two other Schott jackets and I usually like to read reviews before shelling out these kinds of bucks, but there were no reviews so I took the plunge blindly.
Glad I did, this is a very nice jacket. Nice thick leather, thin cotton lining, all high quality as you’d expect. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect with a waxed finish, but the leather is soft and supple, and thick. It looks weathered. The leather feels and smells great.
I like the fit. I’m 5’10”, about 170. Usually on me shirts and jackets are either too tight in the shoulders but fit around the waist, or fit my shoulders but are too loose around my waist. I ordered a large, and it’s a nice fit. I tightened the side straps to the third hole, and I love the fit. Not tight in the shoulders but I can comfortably wear a sweater under it.
The sleeves come about to my knuckles, and the bottom of the jacket is neither too short nor too long. I have a Schott 689 motorcycle jacket, and this jacket is a few inches longer than that one.
I’ve received several compliments already on how the jacket looks. It’s not a winter coat, but definitely is suitable for spring and fall with a layer underneath.
All in all I’m quite happy with this jacket, and highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quality, unique-looking leather jacket.
