The jacket is beautiful and looks great; delivery was excessively delayed (but most things are in the age of coronavirus). Only issue is that the fit is a bit subpar for a jacket at this price. Would appreciate Schott abandoning letter sizes for more accurate suit/sport jacket sizing system.
Reviews before me have referenced a suit of armor and I couldn’t agree more. A shiny suit of brown armor that vaguely smells like a tobacco humidor. A long time Schott customer, I am between a small and a medium (I’m 6’3, ~38” chest, 32 waist). This jacket is narrow in the shoulders and wide in the hips but has a waist adjustment slide buckle. A medium fits me perfectly. Can’t wait to take this on some winter road trips in California
I love this jacket so much that it’s not even winter where I live and I intentionally turn my thermostat way low just so I can wear this and sit around, doing nothing but admiring this piece.
The jacket was well made and the fit was right on. I bought a 48,I'm 6ft 229lbs with a 48 chest and 38 waist, the leather color was rich and not real stiff.
Bought my first Schott jacket returning from a skiing trip in 1988. Bomber style with removable fur collar and lining. I still have it and wear it frequently. Thought it was time to get another, so I decided to with the Horween Delivery. Unbelievable quality and style. Ordered a size M and the fit is perfect. Anyone who wants a jacket for life and then pass it down--this is the jacket for you!
The overall look and feel of this jacket is incredible. I sense that I am somewhere between two sizes and couldn’t find a comfortable fit. For the price, it would be nice to see this jacket in traditional men’s jacket sizes (I.e. 44R) as opposed to M, L, XL... etc. Very sharp looking jacket in person and I’d still consider trying one on again down the road.
In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York there is a large selection of suits of armor, from many different countries and time periods. I have often gazed upon these objects and asked myself one question: "how the hell could you move in that?".
When trying on this jacket my first thought was it is as close as I'll likely get to wearing a suit of armor. In all seriousness if somebody came at me with a pocket knife I don't think they'd be able to penetrate the garment, or at the very least would need a running start. This is a good thing considering I'd not be able to move quickly enough to avoid an attack in this jacket.
The question then is does wearing a jacket that makes you feel like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz a good or bad thing? To be honest I'm not sure. I think it'll take at least a year for this to break in enough I can have a real opinion about it. That said I specifically bought this jacket as I want something that will last for life.
I don't doubt the materials, quality, or craftsmanship, or that it will in fact last a lifetime. Although I bought the jacket, I don't feel like I own it yet as it's deep, rich, and stiff leather is not yet accepting me as its master. I can only hope that in time I will earn the love and respect of this garment.
This jacket will give you a whole new perspective on life. It brims with confidence and is just bold enough to draw the eye. There is absolutely no mistaking the quality of this jacket even to the untrained eye. The thick, Horween leather has such an absurd amount of luster that it’s almost unfair that probably no one else in the room will be able to match it.
It’s the perfect love child of Chicago and New York: The best leather in the world from Horween and the iconic style of Schott Perfecto. Buy it. Now. Your future generations will thank you for it long after you’ve passed and passed it on.
I was looking for a high quality life time Leather jacket...Finally found it @ Schott!
What a great piece of jacket...thick leather, masculine look...just wonderful!
Worth the high price...
Thank you Schott!
