Awesome jacket. Great fit, love the naked leather inside body and the lines arms make easy to put on and take off. Quality that will last a lifetime. If only postage was cheaper to new zealand. Makes an expensive jacket very expensive đł. Great help from the help centre sizing
Finally got the suede jacket I have been wanting.
Excellent craftmanship, perfect fit.
Arrived in 2 days with free shipping.
Picked up a Schott Pea Coat several years ago.
Great American Company
I got the unlined rough out suede jacket a month ago and itâs already my favorite Schott jacket! And I have 5 of them. The look is obviously a matter of taste - I went for the brown one. I especially like that itâs unlined. Once the body heats it up, it feels fantastic on your bare arms!
Very nice jacket. Love it. What more can I say?
I have a 654 Casual Racer and love it. Wouldn't trade it for anything. That said, I recently got the 370 Duke and am blown away with how amazing it is. I've had it a week and nearly a dozen people - friends and strangers alike - have stopped to comment on it. The hand is rough and rugged, the cut is straight and short, just like a proper trucker jacket. It is heavy and stiff at first, but already shows signs of breaking in, both visually and in terms of comfort.
I'll address the two common questions with the Duke:
1. Sizing: I'm 5'11' and 175lbs. My 654 is a Medium and fits perfectly with a long sleeve shirt underneath. It can also handle a medium weight sweater. I sized down on the Duke to a Small. Not surprisingly, it fits tighter. I was nervous that it was too small at first, but it's starting to mold well. I also plan to wear it in the warmer months with a t-shirt (versus the 654), so I'm very happy with the size.
2. As the other reviewers have noted, the Duke is unlined. Honestly, it's a bear to get on, and in short sleeves it feels rough on the skin. The upside is that the leather really molds beautifully to your body, much better than the 654 does, actually. So, the unlined aspect has its pros and cons.
All told, though, the Duke will get you noticed, in a good way. I love it.
style wise, this jacket is fantasitc. the only issue i have is taking it off, its got no liner, this includes the sleeves so putting it on/taking it off can be sticky. if you're cool with that (which I am) then stop looking and smash that -complete purchase- button
This jacket is very substantial; no wimpy suede here. When you put it on, you can feel its weight, the quality workmanship, and amazing fit. It molds quickly to the body and is warmer than I expected for an unlined jacket. The brown color is slightly deeper than beige, more of a rich, warm tan or caramel, and you can see all the rugged character of the natural leather.
Being unlined, nothing comes between you and your leather. This could have been a deal breaker for me, because I have never worn a leather jacket without a lining. I love me some slick, polyester satin lining and inside pockets for glasses, a cell phone and such; so, I was hesitant to make the purchase. But, the inside leather of the jacket is finished, not sueded, which makes it easier to take on and off. Still, if youâre wearing a sleeveless T-shirt underneath, the leather-to-bare skin can be a little sticky.
The nap on the outside appears to be oiled and waxy with a firm hand rather than soft and will take a little breaking in; but, from what I can tell, this finish probably wonât show soiling as readily as a softer, lambskin suede often does.
The styling is similar to a âtrucker jacketâ with two side hand pockets, side button fit adjustments, button closure sleeve cuffs, and a shirt collar, albeit with a couple of slightly different features, such as a zipper front closure and one outside zipper chest pocket.
At 6â tall, 168 lbs, with a 41 chest and 32 in. waist, the medium is a perfect fit for me with plenty of room underneath if I choose to layer up. But, I particularly like how this jacket looks with only a T-shirt underneath.
When it comes to Schott jackets, I have great expectations. With the Duke, I wasnât disappointed. This is such a great jacket -- the look, color, fit, and quality. Itâs quickly becoming my favorite jacket.
