Lightweight unlined leather delivery jacket.

There is something special about pulling on an unlined jacket. At first it feels different, the feel of leather across your body unprotected by lining. Slowly you feel the leather molding and soon enough you realize this jacket is meant to fit you like nothing else.

    BEAUTIFUL JACKET, LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS

    Published: Wed, 3/8/2023 by Kevin

It's a really really really beautiful jacket and is great for casual wear in most situations, even in the office. The color is more brown than orange, which is more of my taste. I also read another comment that the sleeves were short. I'm 6' and the sleeves were a little long in my case. I'm 215 lbs (on the leaner body type) and Large fits perfectly. The fit guide recommended me XL actually.

Being unlined, bits and pieces of leather and suede does comes off the interior and can stick to your shirt. Especially if you're wearing black underneath. But that's no problem for me.

Well made, great quality, great leather. I would have kept it, as I truly loved it. My problem was finding the size, I am 188 lb and 5 11 - I am usually between L and XL with longer arms. so it is always a challenge finding clothes. XL was too big, baggy almost, and L the sleeves were too short, so there it is.

This jacket is awesome. It fits like a glove. I ordered a small. I'm 38 in almost everything. 5'8" and 150-160. The unlined aspect doesn't bother me. It's still pretty new so yes some inner stuff sloughs off but I expect that to get better. The fit is just spot on in all the important areas like the shoulder, chest, waist. The sleeves are about an inche too long for me but that's much easier to address than the other stuff.

Beautiful jacket and has a timeless look to it. The fit guide was spot-on and I'm glad I went with the recommendation and not my usual size. Fits like a glove. My only complaint: the jacket is unlined, which I knew, but it is hard to get it on and off. Grabs your clothes, especially the sleeves. And leaves little flakes of leather on your shirt. I'm sure the last thing will go away over time, but still. There's a nice thin little lining just below the collar, and at this price point, I would have loved to see it on the entire inside. Would have made it a 5 star grand slam bury-me-in-this-jacket purchase. It looks great, but doesn't feel as high-end as it costs.

BEAUTIFUL JACKET, DON'T LET THE LACK OF LINING SCARE YOU

I’ve been looking for a lightweight leather jacket for some time now, as I currently don’t have any leather jackets for Spring. I’m a HUGE fan of Schott and this is my 6th jacket from them. I only got into them within the past few months but they ALWAYS have the most durable and beautiful jackets on the market, in my opinion. The 575 is no exception. I was originally torn between this and the 546, as they are very similar looking. However, the 546 has a lining (which makes it warmer) and also has the bi-swing back. While I normally like the bi-swing, I thought it created a somewhat webbed look on the back of that jacket that I didn't like. Regardless, here is my review of the 575.

I always purchase my Schott jackets online, but I finally decided to take a ride over to the Schott store in NYC. I already was eyeing this jacket for a while now, so I went in looking for this. To my surprise, this jacket ran a little big on me. I stand at 5’8 (1.72m) and weigh about 160 pounds (72.5kg) with a 38 inch chest and I didn’t expect the jacket to be a little big in the torso. As I am a slender guy, I actually sized down to a Small. I normally wear Medium, but the small looked much better. Anyway, on to the jacket itself.

I purchased this in the Rust color because I think it looks much more unique than the black, though that color looks great too. In my opinion, this jacket looks just a BIT darker than the photos. It definitely has that orange-brown color to it that I love, but it’s a bit more brown than orange. As I sized down to a small, the shoulders are just a bit tight when I zip this up, but I expect that to be no issue as the leather will expand a bit anyway. Also, I mostly wear this unzipped as it looks cooler that way and there is very little tightness too.

Perhaps a thing that might worry people about this jacket is that it is unlined. I find this to be NO ISSUE at all. This is my first unlined jacket and I have heard many people say that it’s much more difficult to put on than lined jackets. That is NOT the case with this. While I definitely noticed a difference putting it on at first, I am not exaggerating that it took maybe one more second than usual to put it on with a short sleeve t shirt. The underside of the leather (inside of sleeves and torso) is all suede. I honestly notice no difference in feel once I’m wearing the jacket. If you are concerned about this being unlined, I recommend trying this on if you have a Schott location near you.

As for other features, it includes one zippered chest pocket and two unzipped waist pockets. Unfortunately, there is NO inner pocket on the left or right side of this jacket. But considering how beautiful and durable this jacket feels, I can live with it. The jacket also has waist adjustment straps that can be adjusted at two levels and two buttoned cuffs. The cuffs are no issue whatsoever for me when I put on this jacket. I am able to put this jacket on without unbuttoning them, even with an Apple Watch on my left wrist. If you have bigger arms, you might need to unbutton them when putting it on, but there is definitely some room.

This is one of my favorite jackets from Schott. I absolutely love the color because it’s so rich and unique. It’s different from other leather jackets and looks more unique than black/brown. The model leaning on the fence with the Rust color is a perfect representation of the vibe this jacket gives off: that cool, laid-back vibe that elevates your look. This jacket is definitely lightweight and perfect for Spring and Fall. I would argue that it might be just a bit too much for 70 degree weather, but I can definitely comfortably wear this in NY weather. If you are considering getting this jacket, don’t let the lack of lining scare you away. I highly recommend purchasing this if you can, as you will not be disappointed. This jacket will definitely get you some compliments!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Fit is impeccable - I'm 5'10 and 135lbs and the small is one of the best fitting garments I've ever bought.
Materials are top-notch - the leather is thick and with a beautiful, regular grain. No imperfections or marks on the jacket at all. It will be great when it develops wear/a patina.
Re the lack of lining, you only notice it when wearing a T-shirt. I don't mind it, but also wouldn't mind sleeve lining like on the 375. The only potential downside is that leather on bare skin can feel a little cold at times, but there's no issue when you're wearing long sleeves.
My first Schott and hopefully the first of many!

    QUALITY PURCHASE

Once again the size calculator was spot on.
Jacket color is identical to photos. Previous review indicated lack of lineing makes for sleeve friction when removing arms, this issue certainly is not anything overly problematic.
Jacket pockets are ample yet hang flat when not in use. Collar is proper proportion and also hangs flat, yet will pop if wanted.
This is my third purchase from Schott and I'm definitely a satisfied customer.

    STILL BREAKING IT IN

I'm happy with this fine jacket although when I take it off the friction from the unlined interior tends to try to pull my shirt off too. I assume this will smooth out as I break it in more. The XL fit is true but the sleeves seem a bit tight - if your biceps measure much more than 16 inches you should probably try the 2XL..
