This is my first Schott leather jacket and probably not my last. Was drawn between this and the 530 and chose the 141 because of the sizing compared to suits. Basically what you already wear is what you should get, and they are right. First, a big thanks to Schott for their exchange policy. I very quickly went from a 48L, to a 46R and settled on the 48R I wear now. Customer service was responsive to questions, and their process is very efficient without a hiccup. Ultimately the jacket fits as a 141 should which is a bit to the forgiving side, and that's what I wanted. I have a somewhat athletic build at 6'1", 250lbs. Not a terribly wide chest, but broad shoulders, a deep back with taper and big hips. I can't fit into slim anything, and even tailored fits tend to be restrictive. The bi-swing back and underarm footballs are ideal for me. This fits very well with room to layer, and even accomodate some weight change as the jacket falls at the hip and across the shoulders where I need it to. The leather while soft, is thick and despite no break in required, I can feel it conforming to me as I wear it. It's very comfortable, the liner does improve function in cold weather and overall is a killer look. I love the function first, arguably overbuilt design. I wanted robust and got that in something that off the shelf, fits really good that will outlast me. Great jacket, definitely recommend it.

This is a good looking jacket, fit is awesome, for not trying it on before purchase. Love the color and would recommend this jacket to anyone that is looking for this style. Thanks
I am a 5'11" (71 inches or 1.8034 meters) tall, man weighing 200 pounds (14.2857 stone). My chest measures to 44".
I went with what they recommended which was a 44" especially due to my above body description. I have had to return the jacket back now on its 3rd time, going lower in size.
The 44" looked like a tent on me, it looked like I was wearing Glad trash bags on me, as it was just unbelievably baggy in the torso section. I have a chest, pectorals, and thought initially it was going to fit me, but they make them way bigger than what they are, as it goes as big from the chest all the way down to the waist. I returned it back for a 40" and that was still big.
The next thing is that they make the arms smaller than they do the torso. So the jacket is always too loose in the torso, too tight in the arm/underarm area. Why do they make their jackets like this, or at least this model jacket?
On the positive side, here are my pros:
1.) It's built tough. Thick leather, heavy, and has a nice insulation that you can choose to take off during warmer times.
2.) The leather seems quality, smells great
3.) Seems like a jacket you can wear for the next 10 years, minimum, and even pass down to others.
I just don't like how they constructed the jacket size ratio wise. The tight arms but extremely loose torso is crazy. I. may have to stick to my trash bags for a coat.
I've never been a leather jacket guy but figured I'd try one out. Did my research, Schott is def the best, that's not up for debate. But was it for me?
I LOVE how committed everyone's reviews are here and I def read through a ton of them before buying so hopefully this helps! Especially people listing height / weight / etc.
My size:
I'm 6' / 260 lbs / 46" - 47" chest roughly / got a bit of a belly maybe a 40" - 42" waist depending / broad shoulders. I used to lift a bunch. People NEVER think I weight 260, they always guess like 220 - 230 lol.
Jacket Size:
I ordered a 48 because I couldn't exactly determine my size but I wear a 46L in suit jackets. Customer Service suggested I not get a long jacket because in addition to the back length, the sleeves get long too.
The jacket was a heavier than I expected. I don't ride so I def don't need anything that heavy. It felt a little short, but I like my stuff to run long. The chest/upper back felt a bit puffy but it also felt slightly tight in the armpit. If I were to wear a hoodie underneath I def would have to take out the liner.
The quality of the jacket is superb. That's a fact.
Overall:
I'm currently in the middle of exchanging the 141 48 for a 246 XXL because it's lighter and more for casual day to day use.
If were to have just changed 141 sizes I would have gone down to a 46L and hoped the shoulders/chest stretched after a few weeks of use/breaking it in and that the armpits fit slightly better.
Overall:
I started my leather jacket shopping here and hopefully the 246 is what I wanted - more relaxed fit but not sloppy.
Crossing my fingers because I know above all else, the quality of a Schott jacket will be superior to everything else!
This is my second Schott motorcycle jacket. My first Schott, a Perfecto is almost 40 years old and still in great shape. Unfortunately I gained some weight and grew out it. My son is enjoying it now and I'm enjoying my new Schott 141 jacket. I hope to get 40 years plus out of this one before I pass it on to my son!
6’5” 250lbs. Athletic build. Shorter torso, most of my weight is lower body. I wear a 46L suit jacket. I ordered a 46 Long. Fit is very good out of the box. I expect it will break in some. It conforms well to me and I can fit a hoodie underneath if needed. My shoulders are somewhat narrow for my height. If I had broader shoulders I may have went up to a 48L although the sleeve length with the 46L is perfect for riding, about an inch and a half past my wrist. The collar rides up a bit higher than I would like when in the riding position but I am hoping the break in will help with that. The leather is definitely top both and looks and smells great.
For reference I am 6' 2" tall and weigh 190 lbs. My chest measures 41 inches and I wear a waist size of 34. I have two other Schotts jackets (641 & 618) that are both size 44 and they fit like they were made for me. I bought the 618 at the NYC store and was assisted by a very helpful employee to get the right fit.
I recently talked with a representative from Schott about the size difference between the 641 & 618 and the 141 and was advised to order one size down. So, I ordered the 141 in brown leather in size 42 and it fits perfectly with or without the zip in liner. If I liked my jackets tight, I might be able to get away with a size 40 but I think the shoulder area would be too tight on me. I am 68 years old, ride an Electra Glide, and this jacket fits me and my style. I ordered the jacket in regular length and the sleeve length is just right. And once more for reference I wear a 16 1/2 X 35 dress shirt.
I am very particular with regards to quality. I thoroughly examined this jacket and it is flawless. The leather is a rich and dark brown. The pictures of the brown 141 on the website do it justice but in real life it is almost stunning. I never thought I would say that about a motorcycle jacket. My 618 is in brown leather but it is more of a medium brown.
The leather is thick and supple. There is a lot of protection here. I wear a Schott every time I ride unless the day warms up so much. that I can't. The style of this jacket can be worn anywhere. It just looks great. I will be wearing this to town even if the bike is in the garage. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.
What a wonderful jacket , 6.5 ft tall 49 chest fit in a size 50. Thanks to Denise at customer service for helping me to pick the right size and answering every question I had . And new leather smell is so amazing.
Shipping to Australia and Customs clearance did fall a bit expensive, but I expected.
Only issue I noticed in the jacket was the finish or side belt finish was not that good , looked like finished in a rush.
Thanks SchottNyc , next one may be when I am in NY.
What a amazing jacket. Worth the wait and Money spent . Shipping and customs to Australia ( down under ) fell a bit expensive but no complaints.
Really amazing leather with beautiful new leather smell and the single pice back looks so good .
I was scared of sizing as I am 6.5ft (196) 49 chest and long arms , but Danise from customer service made the process easy by answering every question I had and helping me to place the order for the rite size ,
Only issue I noticed was the Side straps on the jacket looked like it was finished in bit of a rush . Bit of a attention was needed . Rest no issues.
May buy one more but when I come to NY not online due to shipping cost .
