What a wonderful jacket , 6.5 ft tall 49 chest fit in a size 50. Thanks to Denise at customer service for helping me to pick the right size and answering every question I had . And new leather smell is so amazing.
Shipping to Australia and Customs clearance did fall a bit expensive, but I expected.
Only issue I noticed in the jacket was the finish or side belt finish was not that good , looked like finished in a rush.
Thanks SchottNyc , next one may be when I am in NY.
What a amazing jacket. Worth the wait and Money spent . Shipping and customs to Australia ( down under ) fell a bit expensive but no complaints.
Really amazing leather with beautiful new leather smell and the single pice back looks so good .
I was scared of sizing as I am 6.5ft (196) 49 chest and long arms , but Danise from customer service made the process easy by answering every question I had and helping me to place the order for the rite size ,
Only issue I noticed was the Side straps on the jacket looked like it was finished in bit of a rush . Bit of a attention was needed . Rest no issues.
May buy one more but when I come to NY not online due to shipping cost .
This is my first “real” leather jacket and it delivered. I was concerned with my sizing due to me being 6’ 2” with a 37” chest. Schotts support team was very helpful in sending me specific specs for the 141 Regular and 141 Long. Off the bat they recommended for me to go with the 141L; with a size 36 for a snug fit and a size 38 for a standard fit. I went with the 141L, size 36, and it arrived fitting perfectly. It met my expectations with being a heavy set jacket with superb materials. Each piece put into the jacket feels like they will stand the test if time and assures me that my money was well spent. I highly recommend purchasing a garment bag to store the jacket. The initial jacket price can seem daunting, but it surely is a worth while investment. I can’t wait to see how this jacket will form to me and weather over time.
This is my second #141 Classic Racer Jacket. I recently bought one in black and I liked it so much I bought a second in brown. I am 69 years old, 5'8" tall and weigh 175lbs. I got both jackets in size 42 and they fit perfectly. The leather is beautiful and will take some time to soften and take on a unique "patina." I ride in northern Michigan and so the liners will usually be out since this jacket really doesn't have any ventilation and all my riding is in the warmer summer months. Im sure one of my nephews will enjoy them long after I'm gone!
Perfect fit. I'm 5'8" 160lbs and 42, 26" perfect. Heavy durable classic jacket
Fits great and very comfortable. Only had for short time but every time I wear it I get compliments on how cool and nice it looks..
Great quality. You will have it for life or grow out of it.
The jacket is made very well and the leather has made my entire closet smell like a new luxury car lol. I am sure with care this jacket will last a lifetime.
This is my second Schott jacket. I purchased the brown one and at night, it looks black. The leather is stiff and smells great. The smell will fill up a room. I'm 5'6, 195 ib, chest size 42, waist size 32, and the sleeve length hits right below the wrist bone. My proportions and weight are unusual for my height, but I lift weights and work out a lot. I opted for the size 42 and the fit is great, looks like it was made for me. The quality of the jacket far exceeds any other brand and brands I see other people wear. People who know nothing about leather jackets knows this one is of quality. My wife is very picky, but she likes this look. First time wearing this, I received many hard stares from women in front of their partners, kind of like a treat to a eager dog. Not even exaggerating. Older women, perhaps 50+, have approached me with compliments while younger women just stare from a distance. Interactions with other men happen more often when I wear this, but the conversation stops when they are told about the price. So, this has led me to believe that this jacket is widely accepted by many people. I understand why this is one of their best sellers. The jacket makes me feel more desirable to women and more respected by men. I typically wear this with a fitted button up or t-shirt, indigo denim jeans or tan khakis, and the waxy flesh Cacao Premier High Top sneaker from Thursday Boots. The coldest I've worn this jacket is 35 degrees here in upstate NY, and was relatively warm. I have warmer jackets but this one is warm enough with base layers, gloves and a beanie.
Sure, you could go on ebay and buy someone else's sloppy seconds and spend time restoring it. Sure, you could play the lottery at Schott's annual factory sale and get a good deal on defective but still functional items. You can do that, it's perfectly fine, but I personally think it is best to ALWAY pay full price for something that is of quality and never look for handouts or go the free meal route. $885 (tax included) is expensive for a jacket, but we must understand that this is a luxury item. Sure, most people won't know the difference between a factory sale item, a second hand ebay item or a brand new full retail item, but you will. Sorry son, but when I die put my 141 in my grave, your not wearing it.
I'm giving 4 because the liner feels cheap , the rest of the Jacket is great ..I'll will used with sweat shirt .
