be the first to hear about exclusive first-looks, super secret sales,
it seems chippewa has nearly run out of american made product so i was glad to find a few left at schott nyc. the leather is a handsome shade of burgundy with more of a matte finish. the design is pretty standard for a service boot and the price here is very reasonable. the tread is a low profile vibram which may have a limited life span. the break in has been moderate so far. i chose to put in a heel cup to add extra shock absorption. overall a solid boot considering the affordable price.
These are my first Red Wing Boots. As I've gotten into more leather jackets, I decided to go for more quality boots to go with them. These boots look and feel amazing. I love the leather. The shoes feel so durable. HOWEVER, these shoes were very hard for me to break in. The first time I wore them, I went for a two mile walk not knowing they would destroy the back of my ankles. I came back with bloody ankles and pain. I put the shoes aside for a couple of weeks. After bending them a good bit and using them more, they have finally broken in. I love them! The color in this picture is less accurate than in person, as it definitely looks more like an oxblood/red-brown mix. I don't mind though because it's a cool color. Works great in snow too. These will definitely last a while. If you're looking for some great boots, buy some Red Wings!
