The 530 is a classic cool, no-frills leather jacket that looks perfect on the road or off the beaten path. Similar to the popular Model 141 but designed with a slimmer fit, this café racer motorcycle jacket is cut by hand from cowhide that was dye-drummed, creating a natural, pebbled appearance. As with all leather jackets, Schott uses only the best, highest quality leather for the 530. Durable yet supple with a soft, luxurious feel, your new jacket will feel like a second skin right out of the box, no break-in period required.
Schott believes in details. That’s why we’ve added a leather-trimmed inside breast pocket and unique, custom embossed "Schott" snap faces. The stand-up, mandarin-style collar with a snap closure protects your neck while the 100% cotton plaid lining feels smooth against your skin. You’ll find the three exterior zippered pockets with chain pulls useful for storing small but necessary items on the go. As always, the classic café racer motorcycle jacket style is still produced right here in the USA.

This leather is made with an oil and aniline finish that gives a rustic old look and a soft "hand". As with all of Schott’s high quality leathers, this medium weight cowhide is tanned and processed to provide many years of use without the need for treatments or conditioners.

The Cafe Racer leather jacket design that became mainstream in the 1960's was developed in England. As soldiers were returning home after WWII they caught the bug of souping up older, prewar motorbikes. These motorcycles were raced between local pubs and cafes which created the need for a streamlined, minimalist leather racing jacket. Traveling at times in excess of 100 MPH was a fairly dangerous proposition on the roads that were more like trails at the time. Heavy horsehide and of course a strong main zipper added a certain level of protection for these speed happy daredevils. One would imagine there were wagers made and records set during these early cafe racing days.
Schott Brothers has produced a café racer leather motorcycle jacket since we produced model 666 RS for Beck in 1956. It was called a "Leather Racing Shirt" and cost $28.95 at the time. Schott also marketed our own racing jacket as the model 641XX. In the early days these leather jackets had symmetrical zippered pockets on the chest, an adjustable snap collar strap and zippered sleeve cuffs. As they were worn and abused many examples found today are missing any signs of the original inside linings.
Rooted in tradition, the Schott Model 530 continues this cafe racer style from the 50's. Based on early racer designs the 530 has changed a bit but the overall concept remains the same. GREAT QUALITY JACKET
high quality jacket. i like that its waxed so i can easily wear it when its raining. the zippers have a good feel and i like the classic flannel style red and black lining
im 6 ft 1 and 190 pounds and i ordered size M and it just fits perfect. the leather is extremely high quality and it has a nice matte finish. overall its a very durable jacket and i think its gonna last me a very long time.
customer service was also very fast and helpful. i would definitely order again

MY FAVORITE JACKET
Ordered the cafe racer in a S but was a tad too small. Exchange was very easy and I couldn't be happier. This was my first Schott jacket and you can really feel how well built it is. I have no doubt with care this will last decades.
ANOTHER REALLY SUPERB JACKET FROM SCHOTT
I have owned several Schott jackets over the last 40 (!) years and this is one of the best. The fit and quality are up to Schott's usual standard -- the leather is really beautiful. I think it's a street jacket, I'm sure I'd wear something else for a ride or anything where I might take a fall or scrape, but there other jackets for that. Having said that, though, I'm pretty sure it will weather well over the years and look good after it's seen some use.
As always, Jerri Reyes and her associates were very helpful in altering the jacket.
GOLD JACKET
I ordered this jacket from New Zealand as this quality does not exist here. The jacket is fantastic and well worth the cost of getting it here. It's a lovely weight, soft, stylish and great smell ! It fits me like a glove. I am very pleased with my choice. Jerri from customer service was helpful and provided a spec sheet and I emailed my measurements back.
I am 84kg,chest 104cm and 1.81m. Cross shoulder was 49 cm. I am certainly going to get some looks wearing this out

not much to say other than it makes you feel like a million bucks when you wear it. The weight of the jacket makes you feel secured by the jacket and craftsmanship is unmatched. no doubt in my mind this is a BIFL item. it fits snug and hugs the shoulders beautifully.

I cannot say enough about my first Schott experience, especially with Jerri and Denise. As with most, getting the sizing right was my number one priority and they were so responsive and helpful every step of the way. I am 5’9” and weigh 160-165 lbs. 40” chest and 30-31” waist. I originally purchased a small, wanting a very slim fit, but it was just too small across the shoulders and in the chest area causing the bi-folds to stay extended after lowering my arms and it looked sloppy on me. Moving up to a medium was pretty close to perfect. The jacket still has a very slim appearance and the bi-folds retract into place the way they should. The sleeves are a perfect length and hug my arms from the shoulders down. The return of the small could bot have been any easier and they refunded my money quickly. This is a beautiful jacket, CLEARLY, well made from the moment I removed it from the box. The weight, the feel, and the smell are amazing and everything you would expect from a jacket in this price range!

ROCK SOLID JACKET
The jacket is extremely well made like all other Schott jackets, it is rock solid yet very supple, right out of the box, no break in period at all. The sizing was tight on point, I am 5’8 175 lbs 41 inch chest and the size large fit me like a glove. This jacket will last a lifetime I am very certain, I ordered it in black and waiting for the brown in large to come back into stock so I can order that one too.
HANDSOME
I bought this coat fror my husband’s birthday, it looks wonderful on him. The material is very nice, and I would recommend that to anybody. It’s worth the money!
