Hand Oiled Lightweight Naked Perfecto® Motorcycle Jacket with Plaid Cotton Lining - Brown

STYLE: 619

Hand Oiled Lightweight Naked Perfecto® Motorcycle Jacket with Plaid Cotton Lining - Brown

STYLE: 619

We modeled this lightweight motorcycle jacket after our classic 618 model with a few key differences including slimmer arms and a longer torso. Perfecto® Model 619 leather jackets for men are made with chrome-tanned, drum dyed, lightweight naked cowhide leather. You will find this jacket to be very comfortable to wear the moment you first try it on! Our “pull up” naked cowhide leather has a soft “hand” and a buttery feel. The tannery put this hide through a process very similar to “glazing”. The end result is an incredible type of shading or mottling that occurs with normal use. This skin will develop unique and subtle creasing that constantly changes as you move and bend in the jacket and very quickly develops into a rich patina. The beauty of this finish is that a quick application of leather oil can restore the jacket to its original form. One note of caution before applying oils or conditioners to this leather: applying leather oils to this motorcycle jacket will darken the appearance of the leather and you will lose much of the pull up effect.

    Leather Type, Fit and Construction:

Incorporating more of a fashion fit, the 619 is cut tighter in the arms. We also removed the underarm footballs for a more streamlined fit. Another change that was made from our original 618 design is the added snap near the belt buckle. This was done to keep the heavy buckle in place even when the belt is open. Also this jacket is longer than the classic 618 and fits very much like model 626. This Perfecto® model 619 moto jacket was designed and built for the long haul, the short ride, and everything in between!
For wind protection and added warmth the 619 features an attached belt, traditional zippered sleeve cuffs and a durable cotton flannel lining sewn into the body. Our bi-swing back panels along with the lighter weight cowhide ensure that this tight fitting jacket moves with you eliminating that restrictive feel often found with other leather motorcycle jackets. Old school brass hardware completes this timeless American made classic that is built to last a lifetime.

As with all Perfecto® leather jackets, we only use the best, highest quality leather available. In the same tradition used in the 50's, highly skilled workers hand-cut each panel for the 619. We suggest you carefully check our sizing diagrams and measurements to determine best fit. Please note this model is a true to fit style.

The Schott Perfecto® Model #619 is proudly made in the U.S.A. Our customers know that the quality and construction of our jackets are unparalleled. From the heavyweight thread we use to the strong American hands that do the crafting. We build our leather motorcycle jackets to the same indestructible standards as the old style leather medicine balls. One-hundred plus years of being the best is your assurance that Schott Brothers stands behind every jacket we make.

The three pocket design of the Schott Perfecto® dates back to the late 1940's. In those days this leather motorcycle jacket was referred to as just “Perfecto®” or “Beck model 999” (manufactured by Schott). The small coin flap pocket started out as a custom option offered in the early 50's. By 1955 this coin pocket became a standard feature of this biker-style jacket known as “the Perfecto® One Star".

Considered to be the best motorcycle jacket it caught the mainstream public's attention after Marlon Brando epitomized the coolest of cool, wearing his Perfecto® in that iconic classic film “The Wild One”. Originally referred to as "the One Star", it was officially banned from schools across the US for an entire year in the mid 50’s. Some believe this action served to make the Schott Perfecto® even more desirable to America’s young renegades with their “Wild One” tendencies. School Boards wanted to burn it and youthful rebels saved every penny to buy one. At the time, this jacket retailed for close to $50 which amounted to roughly 100 hours of work if you were a gas station attendant making fifty cents an hour!

The customized asymmetrical leather motorcycle jacket worn by Brando became the must-have anti-establishment symbol for 1950’s youth. The orders skyrocketed for this leather jacket causing Irving Schott and his son Mel to increase their workforce and expand the factory. By the mid 1960’s the Perfecto® mens jackets had also caught on with the emerging rock n roll movement. Once again, due to increasing sales, we had grown out of our current factory on King Street in Perth Amboy, NJ. A few new factories later but still in NJ and under the leadership of Roz and Jason Schott our family proudly continues to produce this iconic American classic motorcycle jacket for the wild side in all of us.

The jacket is beautiful. The color is a classy/rich brown. The fit is snug enough, but not too tight (6' - 185lbs - bought a large). The jacket can be worn over a tee shirt or a sweatshirt. This is my second Schott leather jacket. Both are timeless pieces.

I'm 5'11" and around 200 pounds, and ordered a large. I downsized to a large because the leather is thin; as compared to my 613 Burgundy which is thick, Horween leather. I ordered an XL with that jacket and that was a smart move with the thickness of the leather. This jacket fits great in a t-shirt as well as a long-sleeve and scarf combo like in one of the pictures. I'm excited to wear this during cooler weather months. Schott never disappoints me.

I ordered 5 different jackets from Schott putting myself in major debt for a few weeks but after trying on all 5 I stayed with the 619 and returned the rest. It fits and looks like a million bucks... I get so many compliments from family, friends and even complete strangers on the street. It is a major attention grabber. This one is definitely a keeper and well worth the investment. I am now looking at the black fitted 626 to compliment this work of art. Highly recommend.

I have bought so many fake leather jackets over the years hoping to find "the one". There is no substitute for the real thing. I put this jacket on and I instantly feel cool. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it already feels like it was made for my body. I want to live somewhere that allows me to wear this every day. I love my 619.

Very solid jacket, well-made. I've gotten so many compliments on it already. Sizes for this model are accurate to your normal jacket size, so keep that in mind. I ordered a large initially thinking it would be like other Schott Perfectos, but I had to do an exchange.

I've wanted a Schott's jacket for years and now that I finally have one I am 100% satisfied. Previously I had a cheaper brand and it served me well for 6 years, but I wanted a Schott jacket and I decided to take the plunge. This jacket is perfect. Obviously it is built very well, and feels like a jacket that will outlive me for sure. However I was not buying this jacket for riding, but more for fashion and living in Texas I wanted a lighter jacket to wear during the spring as well as winter. Well this jacket is definitely light enough and feels very comfy and not at all too hot to wear, the cotton flannel lining feels good. The length is also great, my previous jacket fit at about my hip and I hated it because my shirts were much longer, but this jacket is long enough to not look dumb in my opinion. The fit is also great, I'm a chest size 38 I believe and I got a medium because I wanted a looser fit for layering and just general comfort and it fits just the way I want it. However If you're looking for a tighter fit, then by all means order to size and it'll fit perfect I'd imagine. The leather is fantastic as well, I love the naked cowhide it looks very cool and vintage in person. All in all I hope to keep this jacket for the rest of my life and if anyone is thinking about buying a 619, I'd definitely recommend it, you will be very satisfied. A really great piece of American workmanship, kudos Schott.

I went back and forth between a 626 and this 619 for a long while before I ordered it from a local Schott dealer. Even though I was not looking at either for personal protection - I'm pretty safe fron road rash unless I fall out of my truck - I didn't want a taxi jacket and "lightweight" leather sounds too much like lambskin to me. No thanks. And then there was the expense part. It was more expensive than the 626. On a soon to retire elementary school teacher's salary, it was a lot more expensive. Back and forth - a lot - till I finally worked out the cost to use ratio and decided that it would likely outlive me and that I was probably worth it anyway and the jacket was too. Got it last Saturday and it is. First off, its built and its beautiful. The construction is top-notch, the materials first-rate and the fit is right-on; like a glove. But it's not glove leather; its plenty thick enough and it has real heft. Its going to break in beautifully - its already started - and its going to really be that second skin that I've always looked for in a jacket. But nothing's perfect and if the powers that be are listening, hear me; the buckle doesn't do the jacket justice. Sometime back I read that the iconic wire grill on the 2014 Bentley (dream on, teacher!) isn't steel any longer, its coated plastic. For me, the buckle on this jacket is like that; it isn't solid. But thats my only gripe. Otherwise this is a beautiful bit of American workmanship and on that I am glad I bought and proud to wear. Good job, folks. And thank you.
