Classic B-3 Sheepskin Leather Bomber Jacket

The B-3 is THE classic WWII sheepskin leather "Bomber" jacket. B-17s and B-24s were not pressurized... and the unheated cabins got awfully cold at altitude! This was the jacket that kept our bomber crews warm during their perilous missions in the skies over Europe. The B-3 bomber jacket is clearly a winner in both warmth and style... even non-aviators like Gen. George Patton chose to wear a specially-modified version of the B-3 (instead of the standard tanker's jacket). The B-3 features: sheepskin, tanned from thick Nappa Leather, all-natural sheep fur, leather welted seams, brass zipper, and buckled collar and waist-adjustment straps. The B-3 also features two front handwarmer pockets, a practical convenience which the original B-3s lacked (the originals only had a small map pouch). You can rely on this classic heavyweight to keep you warm on the coldest winter day, and you can count on its enduring style to survive the fickle trends of fashion! Available in brown and ebony. Union Made in the U.S.A by LOCAL 169 of WORKERS UNITED A/W SEIU.

    Material: Sheepskin

I've owned many military jackets (G-1, A-2, & B-3) including the ones made by Cockpit & Avirex. But I can tell you that Schott makes it better than any other brands out there. Material is ALOT better & fits better on your body. Not only does it look great, but it's very warm. Keeps you warm under zero no problem.

Takes a while to break into though (this jacket is very heavy). They felt kinda hard to move in em when I first got mine, but after a while it was all good.

This is a full-fitting jacket. For proper fit, I recommend ordering a size smaller (or 2 if you're not planning on wearing thick layer of stuff underneath). I'm a slender 36-38 & I went with 32 as 34 felt too big on me.

I had been dreaming about this jacket since I was 15 years old and was living in France. After I became a permanent resident of the US, I decided that it was time to achieve my dream. I bought this jacket 18 months ago and lived through 1 cold winter in Chicago with it. This jacket is warm, it is beautiful, it is elegant and knowing that the very people who freed my country used to wear it makes me ever prouder to wear it. Perfect craftsmanship and perfect material. I cannot count how many times people ask me where I got it. I love it! Thank you so much guys for making these wonderful jackets. It is my second Schott jacket and I am already choosing the next one!

Hi everyone, I purchased a B3 and the Easyrider with Gails assistance. I have been wearing the B3 in the cold weather (around zero with the wind lately) and I can tell you that I have never had a warmer jacket! I didnt feel cold (except my head and legs) at all! I highly recommend the B3 to all if you are looking for a quality WARM jacket.

The easyrider is great as well! Love it! These are the nicest jackets I have ever owned.

My first Schott B-3 jacket, the style 257S rendered in Ebony, has caused me to want to find a red Fokker tri-plane.

This fine jacket is the genuine article. The craftsmanship inherent to its construction is unsurpassed in my estimation and the garment is loaded with function to spare as daytime temperatures turn toward the freezing mark and Winter beckons. Donning this B-3 is to be swaddled in luxury, warmth and security; having all of this in the sleek jet-black form of this jacket is the cherry on the sundae. Having had it for only a short time I've already received many compliments on its rich and unique styling.

I'd recommend the Schott B-3 Sheepskin 257S to serious buyers that desire something unique and functional. I ordered the size, 50, that I wear in a suit. The jacket sits ever so slightly (and satisfyingly to me) below the waste and can be cinched at the sides to shut-out drafts up your back. There is room, if you think you might require it, for nearly any sweater of one's choice. Flip up the wool collar and you won't need a scarf, you're set to go with a dash of panache in the bargain. Last, but certainly not least, is that this fine piece of outerwear is made here in The United States by the artisans of LOCAL 169 of Workers United A/W SEIU. I could not ask for anything more. Thank you.

I already have another B3 jacket in my home. But that one is quite bulky, so I googled so many kinds of B3 produced by many different companies. I should say Schott 257s is the best. The cut is super and a little bit longer than other B3. The sheepskin is very soft which makes me feel so comfortable. Although this is about 2 times price of other B3, it totally worth that. I think that‘s why Schott nyc keep making product in USA. The size is perfect for me, just for more information, maybe it's useful. I'm 178cm, 68kg, shoulder 40cm, chest 90cm. Size 32 fit me the best. Because I live in Germany, so I bought this jacket from online shop. And I know there is the other type of Schott B3 in Europe named L1259. That is a nothing but ordinary jacket, which probably didn't made in USA. I highly recommend this one.

A very nice jacket for our cold winter here in Norway. I would state that this jacket is not big for its size. I would say it is true to its size. That was also confirmed by the Schott representative. Thank you for a fabulous product and good customer service.

I was a little concerned over sizing for this jacket, and contacted customer service. They provided a quick and complete reponse enabling me to order the correct size. The jacket arrived a few days later, and the quality and construction surpassed my expectations! I have gotten compliments on this jacket from complete strangers. It is quite warm (we have had a very cold winter with temperatures near zero) and with this jacket on, you might as well be sitting indoors- absolutely windproof and extremely warm (haven't tried it in an unpressurized B-17 yet). Couldn't be happier.

I'm sure it will last as well as my Schott Bros. western-style fringe jacket purchsed in 1974, which still looks brand-new. Many thanks for such great products.

I took the plunge, spent the bucks and bought this jacket. Smartest move I've made in a long time. Superb quality, pure Americana and the warmest coat I've ever worn, including down and synthetics. If you're looking for the real, no-b.s. thing, look no further. You're there.

My Schott B-3 Bomber replaced a 40 year old Robert Lewis that I grew out of. I investigated many products before deciding on the Schott. Some with retailer names were actually manufactured by Schott; but were lower price and clearly made to a lower retailer specification. Use the Schott customer service folks to help with sizing; they were most helpful to me. I hope to have this one for another 40 years.

Unfortunately I emailed Schott for sizing help and never received a response, so I had to go to Men's Warehouse and get my body measurements to accurately pick my size (they told me my proper jacket size). Needless to say, the jacket fits well. The fact that it is sourced in the U.S. is a big plus, the shearling is warm and of good quality. I can put a hoodie on underneath if it drops below 15°F (-9°C). Here are my measurements to better help you decide which size to get:

    170 lbs (77 kilograms)
    5'11 inches tall (180 centimeters)
    34" arm length (86 cm)
    39.5" chest (100 cm)
    38 "jacket size"

I got a size 38, true to my jacket size

Just recently purchased the Classic B-3 Leather Bomber jacket from Schotts' after having done extensive searching with many other companies and looking at reviews as well as the jackets themselves. To be sure, the B-3 from Schott is of the highest quality. I love my new jacket and I would recommend it to anyone!

I purchased my B-3 in 1993 from a costume store in the theater district(NYC)for $500. the shoulders have worn a little thin mostly from the weigh of sitting on the hanger in the off season, but the jacket look fantastic after almost 20 years. you can't go wrong with this coat.

    Do I love it?
I brought this B3-Jacket in 92 from a Army & Navy store; who just happen to have a Schott order book in the store because they just order their quality coats from Schotts, I will not wear any sweater or sweatshirt under this coat because I will be covered in sweat if I do.
