ok fit, the fleece is very good. Jacket is warm. I live in MN. I rated the jacket only a two because of the finish of the leather. It came with scuffs and scratches all over. I called customer service and their comment was that is how the jacket should look. My old bomber jacket which I wore for 30 years still looks better than this new one. Reason for buying a new one was that the fleece was wearing out an I had ripped the leather in one spot.
This jacket just exudes style. I hate to take it off once I’ve put it on, it’s like wearing fur lined armour. Material and Construction are superb. I made one woeful error in not heeding the advice of others before me that suggested ordering a size smaller than your regular measurements. Had to send the first jacket back as it was 2 inches too big everywhere (sleeves, shoulders, waist, drape). But now I have a size 46 that is a perfectly sublime fit.
I have truly been a "Schott roll" over the last few weeks,...first with the Hand Painted Rough Rider followed by the B-3 Bomber in Brown/Gold. I must admit one hell of a way to start! Even "WOW" cannot describe the quality and workmanship of these iconic jackets! At 5'9" and 165 lbs. with fairly broad shoulders, I am an L in the Rough Rider and 40 in the B-3...true to size fit for both. Very proud to wear these made in the USA jackets, with my only question being what is my next Schott jacket! Any recommendations welcome...Phil.
1st off let me just say that this Jacket runs big so I would order it a size down. Also this jacket is very very warm, so if the climate where you live doesn’t get below freezing very often, you might not get to wear this much. It’s extremely well made & heavy duty. This is the type of jacket your grandkids will be wearing one day. The zipper on it is very thick & overall it’s just well put together. If it got colder more frequently in Delaware I would’ve just exchanged it for a 46 in lieu of the 48 that I ordered which was too big but i unfortunately ended up having to exchange the jacket for something more practical.
I've wanted the B3 from Schott for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I couldn't be happier! I am 5'10" 165 pounds 42" chest, and I ordered a 38 & a 40. The 38 gave a really nice slim fit, but I ended up keeping the 40 so that I can wear layers under if I choose. The leather is beautiful, and the shearling is super comfortable and warm. It has been windy and in the 30's the last few days in the Chicago suburbs, and I kept super warm walking the dog. The quality is top notch and I see myself wearing this coat for years to come.
This jacket is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever purchased! I purchased the brown one with white fur (looks more yellow which I prefer). The jacket is extremely warm and is windproof even when not zipped up. When zipped up, no cold could penetrate this jacket. Despite weighing five pounds, the jacket does not feel that heavy when worn. It is definitely still on the stiffer side right now, but it will be broken in with more use. Everything feels extremely durable on here too; the waist adjustments and belted collar are both very solid. If you are looking for a slimmer fit on this jacket, SIZE DOWN. I bought this in a size 38. For reference, I'm 5'8, have a 38 chest, and weigh about 160 pounds. The jacket fits well, but there is definitely some extra room. I probably would have ordered a 36, but the 38 is still great. The arms are on the bigger side as well, but the sleeve length is perfect. I would like to add that when I purchased this, a thread was coming out of the cuff. I contacted a Schott representative and they told me that someone most likely just forgot to cut the thread during the sewing process; since then, I cut the thread and everything has been good. This jacket is extremely stylish and practical (and makes me feel like Leon Kennedy!) so it is definitely worth the money. It is my first real leather jacket and Schott has done a great job with it. I am already eyeing other Schott jackets, If you're looking for a winter jacket, buy this!
Absolutely love the b3. I will definitely do business again. I just can’t wait until it’s cold enough to wear it.
I’ve always wanted a leather jacket that is warm enough to wear during the really cold weather in the Midwest. Now I have one I have been looking for and I am in love with it. I went with the black color because I thought it was unique and I look forward to telling people that I used to be a tie fighter pilot. The quality is amazing is second to non. I never thought I would say I am looking forward to the weather getting to 10°.
Love it! The original and the best!
While I did not need another leather jacket, and certainly not one this warm at the beginning of the summer, the B3 Sheepskin just looks so cool.
With the sheltering in place, I had a lot of time to shop and compare/contrast. In addition to Schott, I looked at B-# versions from Aero, Eastman, and the Cockpit.
The 257 was the best balance of quality, materials, modern improvements and historical authenticity
It was difficult to pick the color (I ended up choosing brown, but I almost let Schott pick for me) and the quality of construction and materials are awesome.
Hopefully the sheltering in place with end soon so I can stop shopping on line. Going to the schottnyc website is dangerous.
