I will not write about the quality, as I think that everyone knows its there - you can see it and feel it - the jacket is impresive.
I want to help out anyone struggling with the size with similar body composition as me - as I struggled to choose the right one - I'm from Poland so I had no opportunity to try on the jacket.
I'm 177cm (5.9), 70kg(155), 98-99cm chest(38-39). I have a "fit" build - flat belly(28-29inch), with a bit of muscles, a bit broader shoulders - but I'm not a muscle mass monster :)
When I was searching for the jacket I was aiming to have a "standard" fit - not to tight, not to roomy - just right. Also I wanted to have space for a thin sweater or hoodie or a standard flannel shirt (not flannel jacket).
I got a 38 - and in a t-shirt it fits great. In a hoodie or a flannel shirt its "tighter" but not too "cramped" - I can still move in it just fine, put my arms up and I don't look like a sausage. You can feel the back stretching/pulling a bit when I layer but not much - I just got it, so I guess it's going to be better after the break in period.

I’m 5 ft 9 in and 165 pound and wear a size 44 suit coat. This jacket in size 44 was too large on me in the arm length and chest. The size 44 was returned for a size 42 which is the correct size for me.

The B-3 is THE jacket to get if you live in a cold climate. I live in Norway and the winters can get quite cold up here. I got mine in size 40 and can layer with a hoodie. But honestly I don't think I want to wear anything but a T-shirt under this jacket, as it is warm enough on its own.

It's expensive, yes, but with proper care it can last more a life time, if not more. This is definitively a jacket I can recommend to people who want to have a stylish, yet comfy jacket, or want to save the presidents daughter (if you know you know).

My only complaint is that my jacket is missing a loop, so I have to use a coat hanger or hang it by the collar, but the pros far, far outweighs this minor flaw.

I own both this one and a 613 One Star, but I can confidently say I prefer the look of this jacket more, as it's softer, warmer and is more practical in formal settings.

I’ve been waiting 18 years to get this jacket. Ever since the first time I played Resident Evil 4 back in 2005, I knew I needed to get my hands on this jacket.

It fits perfectly, the quality is incredible, and I feel amazing in it. I can’t wait for colder weather to be able to wear it consistently. I’m looking forward to many, many years of wearing it.

This jacket is without a doubt the warmest jacket I have ever owned. It really is impervious to outside temperature or wind conditions for that matter. The fit is excellent. The jacket is snug a fit. There is not a lot of extra room inside this jacket which is exactly what I like. You could wear a tank top underneath this jacket in the middle of winter and still be toasty warm. The leather is all top quality. The leather covered seam stitching is on point and sheepskin lining is nice and thick. The Schott B3 is definitely a grail jacket. With proper care and maintenance, you will have this jacket undoubtedly for the rest of your life. Be prepared for many compliments and a lot of heads turning. This jacket turns everyone into a rock star.

Like a few other reviews for this product, I fell in love with the look of shearling jackets like this one because of a certain character back in 2005 and have wanted a quality B-3 jacket for a long while. I had purchased this jacket back in May at the flagship store in Manhattan so I could get an idea of how the sizing felt. I was reccomended a 44 for a standard fit based off my measurements(for reference I'm 5'10" 170lbs and have a 44.5" chest) however, I wanted to see if the size 42 fit me better. I didn't feel much of a difference between the two options so I went with the size 44 just to take into account any potential physique changes.

I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the most comfortable thing I ever worn. The fur is extremely soft and while I can't yet say how it'll fair in late autumn/winter, it will keep you warm in high air conditioning and a freezer room. I can't wait for it to get cold enough to wear outside. If you're interested in getting this jacket yourself, if possible I'd recommend going in person to get an idea of how the sizing feels. That being said the online size recommendations are pretty accurate.

A word on sizing, as I see this is a common problem and it certainly was for me: To order your correct size, go to a clothing store and have them measure your SUIT size and order the jacket one size smaller because it runs big. I'm a 44R, about 170 lbs., broad shoulders and long arms, and the 42 in this jacket fits me perfect. Any smaller and the sleeves would be too short, any larger and the shoulders/chest would be too big.

I had to return the first two jackets due to issues. The 1st one (size 38) was way too small despite their customer service assuring me it would fit based on my measurements and the 2nd (46) was a bit too roomy and the shearling around the collar was in not-worth-$1,495.00 condition. This was before I got properly measured, so I don't blame Schott for the size issues. The third one I received (42) is absolutely perfect though!

As for the actual jacket, the leather and shearling are very high quality. The waist/collar straps are a nice touch that gives it a much more authentic, rugged look rather than the "designer" look most other B3's possess, such as Overland's and others you might see on Amazon. The zipper is also high quality, which is a small thing to pick out but I definitely noticed it. (Turns out, in 1925 Schott was the first company in the world to use zippers on clothing, so I guess it makes sense.)

I've wanted one of these ever since I saw the protagonist of a certain video game from 2005 wearing one, and I'm pretty sure they actually used this particular one as a reference for the 2023 remake.

Sure there are MUCH cheaper B3 jacket alternatives on the internet, but I plan on using (and caring for!) this jacket for the rest of my life when the weather permits it.

Overall, despite having to return two of these, I'm very satisfied to own an authentic B3 after wanting one for 18 years. Will definitely recommend Schott to anyone looking to buy quality, high-end leather jackets. Easy returns and fast shipping (both FedEx) are always a plus, too.
