WTB: Schott Perfecto Restoration Hardware Cafe Racer

Looking for this unlined Schott Cafe Racer in a brown medium that was done for restoration hardware.

I've been looking for an XL for over a year now.  :). I'll keep you in mind if I run into a medium!  Good luck!

Thanks, suprized that Schott doesn't bring back an interation of a jacket like this.  Seems like a great jacket for layering or wearing in warmer weather since it's unlined.  I wonder how much Schott's custom shop would charge to make a small run of these.

I have this jacket in black and I love it but heads up the sizing runs small. I'm a 37" chest and the medium fits me pretty snug when zipped. In other Schott's I wear a small comfortably. Good luck in your search.

The best Leather Jacket ever! Loved the audacious features and specification of this brown leather Jacket, which anyone can easily borrow both formal and semi-formal occasions. Arrow jackets

I have been looking for this jacket, large (42-44), for over a year ... would gladly pay top $ ... please let me know if anyone might have leads?

I've reached out to Schott about doing a possible crowdfunded campaign or a group buy to bring an interation of this jacket back. I'll keep you updated.

Haha, same here!  Silly spammers.  Schott wasn't intested in a crowd funded return of this jacket, but it could be a neat idea.  Maybe they will do a limited run of them again at some point, maybe with few tweaks so it isn't a restoration hardware exclusive.

Sorry, about the spammer's post, I have deleted that post to hopefully avoid other members from being fooled in hopes of finding a jacket. I will forward your interest in this type of jacket being made again to Jason Schott. All we can do is ask and hopefully they will do a special production lot if there is an interest. As mentioned in a prior post there is always the option of a custom jacket.

I found one of these brown racers at a factory sale a couple years ago in a M.  It was sold on EBay and went for almost $400.  From a historical standpoint this style of cafe racer or leather shirt was popular way back in the early 1950's.  Sold by Beck, made by Schott and called the 666 -RS it's covered in the Rin Tanaka book about Schott (great read!). These jackets were made with a thin lining but it often was torn out or over time and use developed holes and was then ripped out.

the RH model was offered in both brown and black.  After seeing the brown one I also was looking for a larger size for myself.  I found one in black on EBay and bought it.  The way these black ones vintaged out was quite a bit different than the brown.  IMHO the brown ones came out 10 times better in terms of finish.  Granted I'm only talking about two individual jackets here...the brown leather was completely matted out and essentially a naked finish.  The black was mostly shiny with random areas that were worn down to a matte finish.  I like the worn down look of jackets that schott vintages like the Cafe 1 in steerhide or the 618v1 and the black RH jacket was not like those at all.

as noted in an earlier post these also run small...I thought I was a size L and that size was a bit tight for a 42-43 " chest.  With the size issue and my disappointment with the leather finish it was not difficult to relist this on EBay and recover my $$.

I would definitely buy one of these if Schott did one in either the Horween HH that was used for the Context d-pocket, and put through some vintaging.   Or the brown hand oiled leather that is used for the model 619...this skin is some of the best leather I have ever run across.  The pictures on this website of the 619 do not capture the way this leather creases and developes that mottled look.  It's a tough mid weight leather that does not require any special's easy to move in right out of the box and would be perfect for a tighter fitting jacket style like this RH cafe racer.

Using this leather for only ONE Schott jacket model is difficult to understand.  Maybe it's a cost thing?  Maybe it's a supply issue?  Maybe it's both...

Years pass by very quickly, this style #RHCAF was produced in 2011 exclusively for Restoration Hardware. The jacket was based on the CEO's personal jacket, which he wore at the time on Restoration Hardware's website. Below is the photo of Gary Friedman wearing his jacket, our reproduction of this jacket was not as distressed and vintage in appearance as his jacket. It was a very slim fit so if you find one to purchase check out the measurements.

Finally found a "L" in Brown as Gail is right, the jacket runs really small and typically I'm a slim fit medium.  Love the unlined leather.  I thought it would actually be a lighter (thinner) jacket, but it's still has weight/substance to it.  Hope they dust this one off from retirement or bring back another iteration. I see some pretty funky jackets coming out of Schott, this one seems like a no brainer in terms of sales.

P.S.  Brucekent is a good trader... +1 feedback for him!  I picked up his jacket in L.
