Steer or Biker?

Hi Gail - I have a question about the Perfecto label. If it shows a steer - does it denote a steerhide jacket? And for cowhide, the biker appears on the label instead of the steer? And if so has that always been the case? I have an old Perfecto with the steer label (ticket in the pocket is too worn to read model number) which I thought was cowhide because of the softness of the leather and similarity to my '93 118 which must be cowhide, but now I'm not sure.

Many thanks, Rob

Hi Rob, You definately have a vintaged motorcycle jacket if the Perfecto Label in the jacket has the bull. We did redesign our Perfecto label from the bull to the biker. The Classic style #618 which is the steerhide has been made since 1952 and the #118 in the Naked cowhide since 1978. Older and vintaged jackets will have the bull on the label for both styles. I believe the label with the biker was first used in the mid-1980's. Gail
