Schott Per70 fit options, sizing help please?

Hello all, I really like the Per70. It's a bit over my price range, but I like everything about it. My question is what size to get? I'm between an XL and 2XL on the fit guide. Is the Per70 it's own jacket completely, or does it fit like a 618 for example?

It says if I want a standard fit to go XL, but a relaxed fit is the 2XL. However, not knowing how it fits, Im not sure which way to go.

I suggest you contact Denise in customer service and request the spec measurements for the PER70 & the 618. I am assuming you may have or tried on a 618 in your size, so you can then compare the sizing when you have the size specs for both jackets. AS with any M/C jacket they all taper in at the waist, so your personal measurements always play a part in jacket sizing.

I purchased a Per70 and it's an amazing jacket. I'm 6' with a 48" chest and I got the 2XL and it's pefect.

How would you say the 2xl fits you? Snugly  or typical jacket fit with some more room overall?

I'm dead in the middle for meadurements.  Want the XL but the 2XL might be better.

Would you have any pics please?

It doesn't fit super snugly like some people prefer but it's by no means loose. I guess more of a normal fit. I know this jacket is pretty pricey but I've heard of people ordering both sizes so they can compare. That way you can try both on at the same time and then return the one you don't want.

Yes Sir, that seems like my option. Order both, leave the tags on. Return the one that fits wrong. I dont want super snug, or too slim fit. That isn't really how such a jacket should fit in my mind. There is such a thing as TOO snug.

Thanks for your help!

I agree. I'm sure you're aware but there is a 2XL for sale on Ebay that is essentially a new jacket for about half price. No returns offered so you would still need to order them from the factory to be sure of your size. If you're near Massachusetts you can try mine on lol.

I appreciate that! I am from Boston actually. But I live between Miami and Maine now, two extremes!

I saw one on Ebay a few weeks back. I would assume it had sold. I'll have to order new though. My shoulders are wide and my upper chest and ribcage are thick. It's so hard to find anything that fits right off the rack. Suits and dress shirts are all made to measure or heavily altered. Otherwise it fits the chest and shoulders, then much to large in the stomach area, or the sleeves are way too long. :(

I envy guys that can buy off the rack.

I thought you were going to go with either an XL or 2XL. You're going to order one custom made?

Ronin27 on 11/02/19 at 02:23 PM

No sir. Not for a jacket. I get suits and dress shirts made custom as they have to fit precisely for professional reasons.

I'm going to order the XL in the Per70. I appreciate all the help and feedback.

Hey Marty !!!!   If it isn’t too much trouble , can you give us a measurement across the chest and waist on your 2Xl ???    Thanks, Rich

Martyk on 11/05/19 at 07:29 PM

Sorry for the delay.  I get 25" across the chest and 22" across the waste.

Thanks for your time Marty !! I appreciate it !!!!

I was the one who sold the PER 70 on ebay for half the price, my jacket was fairly new... now on to your question... what I have found is that the light weight models are true to size and the middel/heavyweight jackets are not, so if you are conidering a heavy wight jacket like the per 70 or a middle weight like the 519... you need to go up one size because those particular models run a little small.
