Perfecto sizing/break-in question

How long of a "break-in" period is recommended before considering leather alterations?  I am the new/proud owner of a Large Per70, with sleeves just slightly too long, and waist that's a bit roomy.  I'm 5'10", 185lbs, 41" chest, athletic build (wide shoulders).  Already tried the medium, which was too small at the shoulders, but had perfect arm length.  I read about how the creases in sleeves will eventually shorten the sleeve length over time ... just don't know how long that time is anticipated to be.  I'm an avid motorcycle rider, and I wear this jacket on my rides.

Any insight greatly appreciated!

The sleeves should meet your knuckles. The waist ? I’d wear a sweatshirt underneath. It sounds like a Big operation to alter it !!!????

We can shorten you sleeves at Schott for you, please contact Jerri in our customer service for cost and shipping instructions if you want to have the the sleeves done. We do not do alterations on jacket, that would need to be done by a local tailor who can measure the jacket on you to see what needs to be done, this type of alterations can become costly.
