Thanks for the 585. It came quick and in perfect condition. If you are weary about sending some money through the mail, all I can say is I found Paladin to be a stand up guy. Thanks again for the jacket. I absolutely love it.

my #1 concern is the length i've never seen a 689 other than online/catalogue. i have a usaf/gi cooper type a-2 flight jacket size 52L, it's a perfect fit. i do ride a hd so the 689 needs to be long enough to cover. #2 i'm not much on purchasing apparel online/site unseen. please advise the length. thanks. ps. i probably need to talk with gail, right.

bgfoote,
I want to sell the 689 Horsehide and the 118, but not so badly that I'll screw somebody over. So let's take it step by step. I understand your concerns about purchasing online/sight unseen. Check out the note from socal on 1/9/12 in regards to the 585 jacket he purchased from me. Of course you don't know him any better than you know me, right ? So the best I can tell you is I'm in north Jersey , just outside of New York city. If you're close enough to meet somewhere to try on the jacket, let me know. However, in reading your last post, I see that you have a size 52L Cooper A2. Gail has stated on this Forum that in Schott Horsehide jackets (and some Steerhide models) you should GO UP ONE SIZE for a proper fit. Check out the second line of my original post, If I'd had the sense to listen to Gail, my ex-gf would have gotten me a size 50 689HH and I wouldn't be selling it. Point is, if your normal size is a 52 you will most likely need a 54 in a 689HH. If however, your normal size is a 50 and you wear the Cooper A2 in a 52 for comfort then this jacket will be fine ( A2 jackets don't have the Bi-wing pleats in the back for movement like Schott bike jackets). As for the length, it's 27 inches from the seam where the collar meets the jacket body down to the bottom edge at the back of the jacket. I've been riding riding for 35 years, I know how important the back length is. When you contact Gail let her know your height as well as chest size and she'll sort you out. Believe me, that lady really knows her stuff. Hope this info helps.

PALADIN, thanks for your post the info is helpful. i previously read all the posts and was never weary of you screwing me over nor did i ever think you were dishonest in any form or fashion, evidently my post read in that direction. i live in central kentucky, south of lexington, so i guess the idea of meeting is out. i intend to call and talk to gail monday, i also know a local clothier that may help with the sizing. my cooper a2 is goatskin and is very comfortable, it is a tad portly but the length is perfect for riding, there is no wind flap behind the zipper so in cool weather the wind does penetrate. the gentleman that told me of your 689hh for sale wears a 618 steer hide and thinks horsehide is firmer and takes longer to "break in" which probably would fit closer for a period. i'll ask gail monday, sincerely thanks.

bgfoote,
Your post was fine. I wan't insulted in the least, I just wanted you to realize I understood your concerns about buying a jacket "online/sight unseen" like you said. I'm over fifty, barely capable on a computer and I sometimes forget that tone of voice doesn't translate too well into print. Talking (or e-mailing) to Gail is the way to go. If she thinks my size 52 689 is the way to go, let me know and we'll work it out. If not I wish you good luck in your search. Hang in there!

PALADIN, Got the 689h yesterday pm, came from NJ to KY in two days. It is absolutely sized PERFECT, the jacket is exactly as you said/posted, plus it looks brand new and lots better than on the forum post, the finish on the leather is supurb. Wish i knew someone that needed the "perfecto 118". Just as Del's "585 post", you are a man of your word and there wasn't even a hand shake. In my father's words "a man's word is his bond", and i have passed that on to my sons and daughter, hope it sticks. Again PALADIN, thanks and may our paths cross one day. Stay healthy L2R & R2L Adios Amigos, bgfoote

bgfoote,
I'm glad you like the jacket, wear it in good health. I know you actually ride, so I think you'll appreciate the advice I got from an old biker over thirty years ago, "When you're ridin' your bike, keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down and your jacket will last for years!" Hang in there. Paladin
