Hi! Do you still have your PJ27 by any chance? Great collection by the way! Thanks.

Not a lot of action on this thread but I think it has potential! Nice jackets BTW. I know we are all Schott fans here but some of us have other jackets as well and this thread could be a nice place to show them off. Here are some of mine.

First one is a Schott 613 late 60's. It is now in the possession of a dentist in the UK. I came by 2 of them and kept 1 for myself.

The second is another 613 early 70's that after a minor restoration I gave to my nephew as a high school graduation gift. Went well with his restored 72 Challenger.

The next is a Schott JD1 complete with belt and mouton collar. I got that one for my wife but it did not fit her very well. It was taken off my hands by a member here.

Next is a Schott 108 (discontinued model) once again I got for my wife. This one stuck LOL.

My favorite so far is my early/mid 50's Star Glove HH CHP. I might be buried in this one.

Lastly is a recently commissioned Montgomery Ward 1950 classic. fits like a cross between a VINTAGE 613 size 46 and 48. Longer than the 46 but not as wide in the waste as the 48. Not sure what the fate of this one is yet.

Just aquired a Perfecto 618 70's era 46 long and a P.H. Distributors CHP 46. I have not been able to find any info yet on the P.H.D. CHP accept they were out of Yuba City Ca.

Updating with another addition. Just arrived today! Early 60's 613 size 48 in great condition.

Wow, great jackets! I don't have any photos at this stage but I do love to share my collection in this thread. I have 3 buco PJ-27, because I love the simplicity. A buco J-2? (does anyone know the differences between J21,22,23,24? Thanks). A brooks cafe racer. A lesco similar to a perfecto and 2 schott perfecto. I have also got some of brits' finest, 4 lewis leathers: a cyclone, a monza and 2 phantom. I'm not a biker, however, I love to collect vintage leather. Most of them were purchased in the US while traveling, otherwise, I don't know whereabouts in the world can we find these uniquely rare treasures.

wax, i'd very much like to know where on earth in the UK can i find similar quality brando style jackets? all i could see was Camden market trash, otherwise were imports.

I know about the LEWIS, but it doesn't have too big a publicity as Schott or the American or German brands, right? where do you usually buy a Lewis brando jacket?

Flattop on 11/18/08 at 09:01 AM

 Wax-

All I know about Buco jackets is that they are hard to find (in my size and budget range LOL), very valuable and way cool! I would love to see pics of yours.

I do know the there is a decent sized section in Rin Tanaka's book "Motorcycle Jackets: A Century of Leather Design" dedicated to Buco. Another section dedicated to Schott.

Dear all! For Reginald, it depending on what trash means. Some people consider vintage as trashy. In Camden Market these days you can still find some nice vintage - though not as easy! You can try the ebay, however the downside is not be able to feel the real thing before purchase. Fitting may cause a problem too. And for Flattop, thanks for the recommandation of those beautiful books by Rin Tanaka. They're a MUST items in recessions... I can't imagine anyone could afford their time and dough to build up a collection of real, authentic vintage leathers. If someone could out there, it would be nice to show them off here - I'm looking forward to that!

which one was Bowie wearing?? saw this photo ages ago, never thought it's a Schott, or isit??

man, Bowie has this one of a kind eyes!! not the color difference, but the whole configuration and feel of it. If he dies, there's not another one to be found....

thanks Wax, it's rewally helpful, I meant by Camden trash was the Paki imitators, fake Brando jackets sold new in packs. I only like Brando jackets.

Lewis Leather Jackets are very hard to find, also on ebay...

Vintage "LL" jackets are good too.
