For Sale: James Dean JD-1

Hey guys. I'm selling my JD1 size 42. It's been worn, missing the collar and belt. The cuffs are a little rough. For its age, I'd say it's in very cool condition. I'm asking $600. Feel free to message me with questions. I'm not having much luck uploading pictures here.

The jacket could possibly be the JD-2 version of the James Dean jacket since it is missing the collar and belt it is hard to tell. The JD-1 was a Limited Edition Horsehide w/Mouton fur collar and a Sam Brown basketweave belt. The JD-2 was the collectors Steerhide version w/Dynel collar and a optional separate purchase of the belt. You can determine the style number by the length of the jacket, based on the old catalog the JD-1 has a back length of 26" and the JD-2 is 25". I am just posting this information as a collector who knows the differences and may purchase the jacket will not have a issue with the sale if the jacket is not actually a JD-1.

Hello Gail. It's a JD-1. The tag reads: lot 3261 dndl 004  jd1 42. I have quite a few more photos. Shoot me your email address. I'd be happy to send them to you. Thanks--John

No need to send more photos the pocket ticket confirms it is the Horsehide JD-1. Too bad you no longer have the Mouton collar and basketweave  belt, but it is still a great jacket. Not sure if you know but the James Dean jackets were made in 1985 which marked the 30th Anniversary of his death. The James Dean Foundation licensed Schott to make the jackets to mark this anniversary of his death.
