Collar hanger hook soiling my shirts

Lately I noticed two black streaks on the back of the collar of many shirts I wear. I wasn't sure where the stains came from. I got the shirts washed but the marks came back. I finally figured out they are from the collar hanger in my Schott P-Coat (no idea what it's called). It's the strip of leather that you can use to hang your coat on a hook.

Attached pictures. Note the stains in the picture appear light but the ones I had cleaned recently were much darker and I have pictures of several other more colorful shirts that have dark stains from the strap.

This is the first time I've had this issue. This jacket is at least a year old and I had another Schott P-Coat before that for 3-4 years and never had this problem.

First off any idea how to fix it?

Second, kind of shocked that Schott would sell a jacket with this issue. Maybe it's a fluke?

It's just a bit of excess leather dye. I would get a rag with warm soapy water and dab at the hanger for a minute, let dry, and that should take care of it.
