CAF1 vs 641xx vs 141
I've been on a quest to find the perfect Schott riding jacket and have, over the past year, purchased a Medium CAF1, a 38 141, and a 641XX. I wanted to just share some pics and describe how each of these fit. I'm tall and thin. 6-foot even. My dress shirt size is 15.5 collar, 34 sleeve, slim fit cut.
CAF1 - Medium Steerhide
This is the first Schott I bought and still the one I'm wearing. The shoulders are perfect. The chest is decent, but I need a dad-bod to fill out the gut. Wearing a zip-up sweatshirt under this makes it almost perfect, but I'm looking to try a CAF1 small. I am sceptical that will work out.
The 641XX has a similar cut and I went down to a 38 to see if that would be better.
641XX - 38
I love the cut of this one, and if I didn't move, this would be a pretty snug, doable size. But I'm holding my breath here and there's no way my back and forearms would be covered after getting on a bike. I'm now looking to sell this one and try a size-40
141 - 38
The V-cut on this is very sharp. I didn't like the style regardless of the fit and returned this one.
I have another post listing the 641XX for sale or trade.
My epic search continues, but I enjoy wearing the CAF1 in the meantime.
Hope this helps someone wondering about these styles.
