A-2 question from long-time fan

Long-time Schott fan and military flight-jacket fan.  Nowhere have I seen leather jackets with the strength and quality of Schott, regardless of price.

Here's my issue.  Last two weeks I looked around local dealers for A-2's.  I found that some jackets had a more densely oil-packed feel to the cowhide surface.  Other jackets, even at the same dealers, did not have that feel.  I *like* that oil feeling but I'm a size 46 and could not find a size 46 with that surface.  Only the size 44's and 48's had it!  This was consistent across dealers.

My question is this: can I do something to give the surface this coating, or can I send it in to Schott for this?  I think it will protect the hide for a longer time, plus I like the way it feels!

Schott *still* gives better quality than that other famous brand, A****x!!

I say for durability and looks...go GOATSKIN.   And follow the old WWII military spec design.

Hi Carlos,

We currently do not offer a Goatskin A/2 jacket in our current line. Are you looking for a Goatskin Jacket or inquiry about products to apply for a waxy feel of leather? This year we have the #184SM in Naked Cowhide and the #233 in Lambskin A/2 jacket. For a product to apply I would need to know what style number the jacket you have seen at retailers to advise on anything being applied to the leather. If you do not know the style number, give me a few store names and I can check what they have ordered from us. Gail
