FS: 689H new with tags size 48 price lowered

I received this jacket end of last season. Still has the tags. Just not into the brass buckles on the sides and the fit is not what I'm used to. I'd trade for a cafe racer style in black preferably with a lining other than quilted. Pictures will follow or email for pics.

Before I get the inquiries, the barcode on the hangtag represents the year 2009 when the jacket was produced.

Thank you Gail. I guess it must have been regifted a few times before it made it to me. Thanks for the information!

Gail on 10/25/16 at 06:32 AM

Possibly not regifted but purchased as "New" old stock. If you are in the NJ area possibly purchased at our annual factory sale. At our sale we always have a few of these new old stock jackets being sold.

Dang I wish someone would gift / regift one to me. Hell I'd be happy with regifted / regifted. :)

I have already received emails sent directly to me on why this new horsehide jacket is so creased and I do not know the answer. If you are familiar with horsehide the leather is very smooth, shiny and has a rigid hand. Since this jacket seems to be re-gifted no one knows what a previous owner has done to the jacket to possibly break it in quickly, rather then just through normal wear. It could also have been stored incorrectly causing the wrinkles. So before I get additional inquiries I honestly do not know the answer. Horsehide jackets become creased very easily because of the finish on the leather.

that goes back to the original post. For some reason the lights make it look like it was rolled in a ball. When in person it doesn't look anything like that. I love try a few other rooms in my office to get a better picture to show this. Or email and I'll make a video if you are interested.

Here are two pictures which i think show better that its not a wrinkled mess.

make me an offer?

Gail on 11/03/16 at 07:49 AM

Your new photos do look much better then the original photos you posted, possibly post a photo also of the back of the jacket. Hopefully these new photos will help other viewers see the jacket as it really is.

Gail,

My measurements are:

Chest 48
Sleeve (from middle of nape of neck to cuff) 38
Back Length 25

Will this jacket be a good fit for me?

Runeglfbrg on 11/08/16 at 01:43 PM

Hopefully she will see that and chime in that it will fit you!

Gail on 11/09/16 at 06:52 AM

Though you did not post your height, it appears you may be a tall person with the sleeve length of 38", my husband who is 6'7" has a 38" dress shirt sleeve. The 689H in a size 48 has a sleeve length of 37", based on a 38" sleeve length the sleeve will be short on you. If you ride the sleeve should be at least 1" past your wrist to allow for when your arms are extended and the sleeve rides up. In addition the back length on a size 48 would be 26-1/2" which would be a plus for you, since 25" would definately be too short if you are over 6' tall.

Thank you Gail.  I am 6'2" and do ride.  I appreciate the info.
