This is THE jacket.
I just got one of these yesterday and I instantly fell in love.

First off I want to say thank you to Jerri, Gail and Nate for giving me stand up service, especially Nate at the Flagship store in manhattan. I must have called the guy 6 times, going back and fourth between size small and medium and he was always willing to hash it out.

I went for a Medium because my shoulders are 18 inches, the same as what the sizing chart says. Nate recommended a small (17 inches) to get that real tight look. I'm really glad I got the medium. The shoulders would have been way too tight and being in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the probability of wearing a light sweater under one of these is pretty likely.

The chest is a bit loose, but I do have a smaller chest (38 inches and a bit), however I'm hoping it'll give me an incentive to get back to the gym and maybe fill out those few inches. It's nothing crazy, hardly even noticeable.

The leather is f***ing beautiful. Everyone should note that it is true black, not the grey that it looks like in the photo.

One thing that would have made it easier to make this purchase would be to have more photos available of it. Especially how it looks on someone.

It is indeed expensive but I can tell I'll have it for a long time.

I'm proud to say I have a Schott perfecto. They're cool as sh*t.

Better looking and more comfortable than the jacket you thought you wanted
Though I own a 118L, there were some things I preferred about the older Perfectos. I liked the narrower miter belt buckle, the squarer shape provided from the lack of the underarm footballs, and the snapless top collar. I had always hoped to figure out a way to obtain one of these old jackets. I had debated getting a PERF2, but the introduction of the 519 made up my mind.
Upon trying this jacket on I found it to be much softer than the steerhide label (which it isn’t) suggests. The diamond lining quilt lining and the really soft cowhide made the jacket much more comforatable than expected. I thought the lining in the sleeves was particularly softer than on the 118. The only caveat with the lining is that there is one less inside pocket – though with 6 other pockets it is hardly missed. I agree that pictures really don’t give this jacket justice. Though the description states this jacket is a 25”, it seems a little longer than my 27” 118L. Sadly no miter belt, and though I understand the need for a belt that snaps to the body , the first thing I did when I tried on the jacket was unsnap it and let it hang freely. Though I have heard complaints on the leather flaps on the wrists, I preferred them to no cover at all. I think it would be better if the cuff flap was sewn on both sides. I am not sure if it is a deletion, but my jacket (which seemed like it was just off the line) didn’t seem to come with the leather tab on the main body zipper.
I would recommend making a special trip to try on this jacket, or getting very comprehensive advice on fitting. Though I should expect a challenge being 6’4 – I am a large guy, I found the fit to be very unique. I tend to wear an XL in generic outerwear fitting (tight 46L on a 118 – I probably should be a 48L). The 519 XL was painfully tight, and I had to upsize to an almost unheard of 2XL. The 2XL fit perfectly, with a very generous length on the cuffs. I can’t wait for the winter chill so I can start wearing this jacket every day. It's that comfortable.

First I bought a 626 in medium and it fit OK. couldn't move my arms much and my shirt sleeves constantly rolled up due to tiny arm hole openings. Then I got a vintage 613 and it fit better but it was super high waisted. Then I got the 519. Absolutely perfect. Fits slim but not too slim. Can move my arms comfortably. Super soft cowhide. Tight when zippered up. Its a little bigger than my 626 in the chest but it looks wayyy better so whatever. Great Jacket!
