Wow
I can honestly this is the best jacket I have ever owned. The wool is of exceptional quality and will keep me quite warm in the winter. The lining is also very very nice. All in all an amazing piece.

Less would be more, but still a nice coat
I wound up returning this coat mainly because I needed something warmer. The merino wool is warm but more fall-weight as opposed to the Melton wool of the Schott pea coats. Also, it's really a waist-length jacket, though it's hard to tell from the picture and I again wanted something a bit longer for warmth.
Looks-wise I found this coat frustrating. I really liked the basic look of the M-65 inspired field jacket but felt that the oversized epaulets and wrist fasteners were just too much for the jacket and detracted from the overall style.
Still, the jacket is something different, has a beautiful crimson lining, and nice antiqued buttons. Just didn't work for me but if you don't mind the big epaulets and aren't looking for something to wear in the depths of winter, this coat is different than most things on the market.
Quality-wise, it was well-made but I would've liked a sturdier zipper -- the one on this coat seemed a little cheap compared to others I've encountered on Schott jackets.
