Vintage Bomber Jacket Identification Request
Watch this Post
Hi Everyone... it has been a while since I last posted. I have collected and sold some amazing Schott pieces in the meantime and your site and assistance has been an invaluable resource to me, so thank you for that. I just found a Schott Bomber, in moderately rough condition, leather is quite healthy, with primitive repairs... with pretty much just the right amount of abuse to make it even more wonderful. *smile* Unfortunately, the tag is gone and I am really struggling to identify the approximate year of production. I do share a pic of the partial label below. Any help or comments about the piece that could help me pin point era, and describe would be greatly appreciated. Brown leather Brown fleece split collar Tan fleece permanent lining Brown knit waist band and cuffs Front snap flap pockets Side slit hand warmer pockets Talon Zip Wind flap has single top & bottom snaps (painted or coated brown) Back of jacket is solid with no middle seam Arms are seamed at lower arm pits Pics are below and if you need anything else to help.. please let me know. Thanks and Happy upcoming 4th *~Eli

Eli, Sorry for the delay in replying to your inquiry but our facility was closed for 2 weeks for our annual summer vacation, but we are back now!  Based on the partial label the jacket appears to be the steerhide 684SM style with the acrylic sherpa pile lining the acrylic pile collarstock. Baed on the age of this tyvek label and the Talon zipper the jacket was produced in the 1970's. Gail

Hi Gail, No problem on the wait, I hope you had a great vacation! Thanks so very much for the info... I'd say this jacket was quite a score then. I'm going to clean it up and post it to my shop asap. Thanks again, *~Eli
