Are your motorcycle vests made in the US with US material? Do you have anything made in China? |

According to their description under the Biker Club Vest it is made in the USA...where the leather actually comes from...who knows but Schott I guess. Unfortunately, companys that tan leather here in the US are becoming scarce due to too many regulations put forth by the EPA tree-hugger radicals.

We do have to import leather because of the loss of tanners in the US. All our leather purchases must meet our standards and weight for our production. Unfortunately the 515V is being cancelled, at the present time we only have limited sizing still available. We do not have a vest that we are offering that is a imported item. Gail |

Welcome back from vacation. I hope you had an enjoyable and restful time. Do you have any of the 515V in stock? Will you be replacing it with another style of vest? It would be a shame not to be able to have a Schott vest on my rides.

Dear Mike,
Thank you, I did have restful vacation. For style 515V we currently only have sizes S, M, 3X and 4X. They may offer another M/C vest style in our 2009 line, but as of now I haven't heard of a new style. If you really want the 515V, we can make a custom vest for you, but it would cost more as a custom item. Gail |

When Gail says that we "import" leather, it's not telling the full story. For example, the leather that we use for the vests is US hides from US cows that are exported outside the US for finishing and then imported back into the US. This tanning/finishing takes place in the Western Hemisphere, not in China. The reason is that there aren't enough tanneries still operating in the US, but we need the USA hides which are the cleanest and the best. |
