Scotchguarding sherpa?
Hi guys,
Looking at a NWOT schott plaid rancher style jacket. It has the full sheepskin lining. Im going to do some horse riding and outdoor activities in it. Is it worthwhile scotch gaurding it, or is there any product I can use on it to make it a bit more resiliamt just in case I get caught in a shower etc?
Thanks,
Ben

I believe you have the plaid wool rancher 759P jacket that has the acrylic pile sherpa lining. Please note the lining in this jacket is not a genuine sheepkin. I know scotchguard is suppose to help in resisting staining, I do not think it is water resistant. As with any wool it is not water repellent and if you do get caught in a shower you will need to let it air dry fully. You may want to purchase a poncho when riding so you can get protection from the rain if you should get caught in a storm. Gail
Just for your own information we never used a genuine sheepskin lining in a wool jacket for lining, only our acrylic pile lining. Gail
