Length of old 184SML
Watch this Post
Gail, I purchased an old 184SML on ebay. Sizing is 48 with separate tag "L". The Lot number is 2793; BNDL 013. The style number and tags suggest the jacket should be 29 inches long. However, it measures 27 inches from the base of the collar to the bottom. Is this normal for the year(s) this particular 184SML was manufactured? Thanks in advance for your help.

Based on the lot number, the jacket was produced in the late 1980's-mid 1990's.  According to an old catalog for that time the 184SML (long) was 29" from under collar seam to bottom of the knit band. Gail

Thanks for the prompt reply.  I may have measured incorrectly.   Unfortunately, this particular style may not be the best fit for me (I am 6' 5").  Out of curiousity, what was the retail price for the jacket back then?

Based on your height you actually need a Tall size in a jacket as even a Long may not be long enough. A long usually is for 6' to 6' 3" depending on an individuals torso and sleeve length needed. In 1990 size 48 retailed around $400.Gail
