I just won what I think is a Schott 674 M.S. 0r 174? It only has a partial tag...so someone correct me if its not a Schott. I paid $60.00 plus 12.00 shipping, which may be a bit high, but its a larger size (26" pit to pit) whch seems hard to find lately. I havent gotten it yet, but here is a link with some photos

The jacket does appear to be an old Schott jacket. Based on the pile lining and fixed collar it is probably the style 674SM. The jacket seems to have a shine to the leather so I think it is steerhide leather, older jackets are more likely to be steerhide also. With an armpit to armpit measurement the jacket is arround a size 44. Gail |

Oh darn, with a armpit to armpit measurement of 26" I thought it would be a size 46 or 48.
I dont know if it will fit then...if not I guess I'll have to resell it :( |

This one fits ok, a little tight in the chest and arms, but fine otherwise. I might still be interested in purchasing another depending on your price. Let me know. |

Doug,
I just finished talking to Gail about the jacket you sold me...it is labeled a size 48, but it is indeed mis labeled. There is no way this jacket would fit anyone who wore a size 42 or larger on a regular basis.
Let me know how to arrange a return with you.

Based on the original armpit measurement of 26" I confirmed it arround size 46, when you emailed me on the measurement of the jacket you said it measured 22-1/2", I do not understand how the armpit measurement can be do different. If the jacket measures 26" armpit to armpit it could very well be a size 48 and marked correctly as old jackets were a smaller cut. On our vintage jackets we advise on our website to order one size larger as the jacket is one size smaller then the size label. If the armpit is 26" then the jacket is not mis-marked, if the armpit is 22-1/2" then it could be a mis-marked size when the lot production was made. Looking at the label, this is a very old jacket, probably from the 1960's. Gail |

Gail we are talking about two different jackets. The one I bought on Ebay was the 25.5" pit to pit and the one I later bought through this post was a 22.5 |
