help identify vest
Watch this Post
I recently purchased this vest at an estate sale, and would like some help identifying it. I can not find any number tag in the pockets or anywhere. I don't know if it is real shearling or a synthetic lining. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The vest is style 336V a split cowhide leather with a acrylic pile lining. We produced this vest from 1979 to 1985. This color was called tobacco. Gail

Gail, Thank you for the quick reply, and the information. Definitely a quality vest, if it has held up so well for thirty years. Apparently, the style is not popular anymore, as I can't find anything like it on your sight, but I am a dinosaur. Is there any conditioner, or protector, or care tips that you recommend to keep it in top shape? Thank you, Brad

Use Ugg Boot cleaner

I am not familiar with the Ugg boot cleaner. While this cleanrer may be good for boots it may not be good for the vest. You need to also clean the lining removing the dirt and sweat that can deteriorate the lining and stitching. I am sure the boot cleaner cannot clean the lining. Most shoe products contain silicone which repels water, but the silicone also seals the leather. In shoes it is not that significant as most shoes last a few years, but clothing last much longer such as this vest. Leather needs to breathe if sealed the leather will eventual dry rot and tear.
